Sweetie and I are back from San Antonio. The funeral for my stepfather was nice. Both sad and uplifting,as Christian "homegoing" ceremonies should be, I suppose. Mom is doing... okay. I just found out my mom's boyfriend of 19 years passed away today. I use the term "boyfriend" because she and Earl never legally married and did not represent themselves on any official documents as spouses. However, when you live in an intimate relationship with someone for almost 20 years, they're your de-facto spouse.

Well, today I got a call from HR at the company where I work. They offered me the position in the other department that I interviewed for a couple of weeks ago and I accepted. It'll still be answering phones, and they have no schedules that leave time free to continue my psychotherapy. If I want to continue that, I'll have to dip into about 2.5 ( Read more... )

As of today, I've learned that I'll be with my company until Jan 16. Since the 16th is a Saturday and I work till Thursday, my last day will actually be the 14th. Friday I interview for another call-taking position in a different department. That position starts training the very next week after the layoff.
