One week from today, I will be on my way across country to live and work in Washington state for one whole year. The idea doesn't scare me nearly as much as it did when I first accepted the position, and I can honestly say I am really looking forward to the experience. I got an Emmies yesterday! Wasn't sure I was going to be able to kidnap her since she's been sick and stuff, but she was better and her and myself and Manda and Haley all went up to the Eau Claire Dells to play on the rocks. We hiked, we waded a bit, and Haley got a bit friendly with a few trees. Good times.

We were able to sleep in! Finally! Yay us! I got up at 9:30ish, and Manda got up around 11. Of course, that might because we went to the dance club last night. Yay dancing! Also, I beat Manda at pool! Only because she knocked in the 8 ball, though. Still, go me ( Read more... )

Hartman Creek is pretty darned cool. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I want to get out of town. Really nice beach (though holy cow was the water cold today) with really clear water and a ton of hiking trails. Also, Manda and I braved the cold waters of the lake for a whole 20 minutes or there abouts. Good times ( Read more... )

Manda is here! And we are both having an Early Morning Internet Fix because neither of us could sleep anymore, me because I just didn't sleep much last night, and her because she's used to getting up at 5 in the morning for work every day. We are so exciting.

Two days later, I'm unlazy enough to update you all on the mini road trip we took to The Dells this last week. It was only two days - Monday overnight into Tuesday - but it was a blast.
