By the tiniest of margins on a climatological scale, probably, the snow and freezing rain simply sorta "fell apart" by the time it was supposed to arrive here. Lately I've been trying to learn to sometimes simply swing the thing without letting it touch the ground, and walk a little more normally. This happens when I'm already walking at a quick pace, and on my usual way to the sandwich shop. (I've noticed that my pace wants to be quicker now that it's a little bit colder.)
