Author’s Notes: Did you put in your guess? Anyway, I decided that ChangMin’s part would be divided to four parts so I won’t bore you. So, two down and two more to go, then we’ll be back with JaeJoong.

Disclaimers: None of the Dong Bang Shin Ki and Super Junior boys are mine, only the plot is.

ChangMin grabbed his coat and keys, rushing out of his apartment in a speed he’s not supposed to posses at twenty eight. But he was fast on his feet, eyes darting in every direction for a cab that could take him to the airport faster than he can say Dong Bang Shin Ki yongwonhi the way Cassiopeia did it in one of their performances. He can’t keep him waiting there for long.

You wouldn’t be too busy to pick me up in the airport, would you?

The cab driver looked at him crazy when he asked to be taken to the airport stat. He didn’t look like a doctor or didn’t even looked like he studied anything related to medicine but it just rolled out of his tongue as if he’d been watching the rerun of Grey’s Anatomy for the past few hours-which, of course, he hasn’t. But he didn’t mind the looks the driver gave him, concentrating all his mental powers on getting to the airport in light speed (he knew it won’t really work but hey, it was worth trying).

In less than half an hour, he arrived at the airport.

He paid the cab driver and rushed out of the vehicle. It wasn’t a long stretch to the arrival area but he seemed to walk far longer than he was supposed to. The last time he was here, he remembered, was the day he arrived in Vancouver; he had taken in everything about the place-from the grey tiles to the weird looking pair of statues. But now, everything was a blur as he rushed past everything, eyes scanning everyone’s face for that one particular person. He couldn’t be difficult to find, he thought; after all, it wasn’t everyday that a Korean arrived in Canada.

Then, there he was.

He looked a little taller than the last time they saw each other; or perhaps it was just because the pair of pants he was wearing were black. He had glasses on and ChangMin remembered to take note of it for later; aging, yes. He was trying not to look as if he has been expecting someone but ChangMin knew better; the other’s eyes were scanning everyone’s faces just as he had done a few minutes ago. It seemed like forever, ChangMin thought, until those searching eyes rested on him. A grin spread on his face, ChangMin’s own lips mimicking it a few seconds later.

“Kibum-!”

*

It seemed too real to be true, ChangMin thought as he fell in step with Kibum. His best friend-well, at least one of them-was with him, walking the lonely streets of Vancouver with him. He’d never thought it was possible-he didn’t remember Kibum ever mentioning that he had a Canadian passport-but here he was, grinning at him as if he was some kind of fool.

“What?”

Kibum laughed. “Still surprised that I’m here, aren’t you?”

ChangMin rolled his eyes, trying to act as if he was older than this game. But Kibum’s laugh was infectious and soon he was laughing as well, silently admitting everything he said he wouldn’t. It was as if they were back to being nineteen, cracking their skulls over some universal mystery or Sudoku that one of them couldn’t solve. The only one that was missing was Kyuhyun.

“Where’s Kyu, anyway? You could’ve brought him along.”

The other just shrugged, laughter disappearing into a smile. “You know how busy he is, Min.”

“And you aren’t?”

Of course, Kyuhyun would be busy; he was balancing a Masters Degree and finishing his first solo album. But still, if ChangMin’s memory wasn’t failing him, he knew that Kibum was in the middle of filming a movie with a big star (who, he didn’t really take note much). The latter usually didn’t have any time to even call anyone when he was in the middle of these kinds of production.

“Let’s just say, they gave me a mini-break.”

There was something more to that, ChangMin was sure but now was not the time for questions. If Kibum wanted to visit him, then he could and ChangMin would just be all too glad to welcome him. After all, hadn’t he wanted someone to take his mind off Jae-things?

“Then I say let’s make this mini-break worthwhile, na?”

*

It was the end of the week, almost five days since Kibum has first arrived in Vancouver (ChangMin won’t mention that it was almost twenty one days since that phone call with JunSu). He finished his midterm paper on time, thanks to Kibum, and has been able to finish a lot of other school-related stuff as well. Things, he thought, were finished faster when Kibum was around.

ChangMin fished out his mobile phone from his pocket, waving at his classmates with the other hand; classes had just ended for the day and he was sure that it was Kibum who was calling-Yes?

I was wondering whether you’d like Yang Chow rice or some burgers and fries.
He raised an eyebrow, shifting the phone to his other ear-And since when did you start to cook, Mr. Kim?
You’d be amazed by what I can do, Mr. Shim.
Is that something I should be looking forward to?
Definitely. But you’ll have to wait. This one’s going to be take-out.

ChangMin grinned, packing the last of his books before getting out of the classroom. Now this was the Kim Kibum he knew. For a moment there, he thought he was going home to JaeJoong-he stopped. No thinking about him until after finals week, hadn’t he promised himself that? He had to stick to that no matter what.

Burgers and fries, then. You want me to pick it up on my way home?
Now, that’s the answer I’ve been waiting for, Mr. Shim.

*

Kibum gripped the phone tightly as ChangMin’s voice faded with the dial tone. This was it, he thought. After tonight, there was no point in going back, no point in saying that he should’ve known better than this. He had waited, tried not to do anything but ChangMin wasn’t doing anything and this-this was clearly his chance.

His mobile phone flashed, Kyuhyun’s comical face on the screen. He must’ve found out, Kibum thought, and Kyuhyun would probably forget which of them was older by a few months. On any other occasion, he could deal with it but not tonight. He shut off his phone; he’ll deal with Kyuhyun and his morality issues later.

Now, it was him and ChangMin.
And only that.
