Since my birthday is coming up, I have been a touch introspective. I'm turning 40, which seems incredible to me. I would have never guessed that I would have made it to this age, I certainly don't feel that old and I feel like I haven't really aged at all. It's kind of crazy but interesting, in a way. Since I am sick I am trying to use the time constructively, by editing Soldier Boy. It is really getting much better than the first draft. I am fleshing out the skeleton I had created and now it is starting to look like life. After I do this I will need a few readers to read this and give me their opinions, to see if I need more rewrites or I can ( Read more... )

Let's see...still have Bronchitis. VA docs not so helpful by giving me death for a cough syrup. My mother's trip was a disaster. She bought me a new car, which didn't suck. I am pretty stoked. One of my Supervisors let me know that I start work on the day shift on the 20th. So no more late nights, but early mornings. This is good because I can get up with the dawn and say my morning prayers breathing in the purifying light of the sun. I might even be able to do some siliat, depending on my schedule and the wrist. St Pat's was a lot of fun. Got to listen to Secret Commonwealth, dance and drink lots of Guinness. The music was varied, from dancing tunes to more listening music. It was awesome. black_magdalene finally got me and wintermoon3 to go and I wish I had gone sooner. They are a good band. Ran into some people we hadn't seen in a while and talked. Good fun.
