Noticed someone post a poem for NAPOWRIMO. Had something itching at me. Figured I'd try to get it out.

Still not satisfied with all of it, but it's the first thing I've written in ages, and it's mostly not horrible. So, yeah, may as well post it. Might even try to do the poem-a-day thing. We'll see how that goes.

I am taking an online course called the Future of Storytelling. I'm a bit behind given that we've spent the past couple of weeks moving. I do want to try to complete each of the units, however, so this is my attempt to catch up, to get the assignments done.

It's been a weird couple of weeks. I've been meaning to sit down and do a reading for myself for a while, but I've been so drained or distracted or disinterested in doing anything productive. Last night, I walked past my cards and decided to stop making excuses.

My spiritual journey has been marked by wonderful moments of community support... and vast periods of time with no contact or communication with anyone in the outside world about my spiritual health and activities at all. Last night was our first girls' night after my grandmom's death which, admittedly, was only our second girls' night. None of my mom's sisters were there, which was a bit disappointing... but also understandable. I had hoped to see them, to hug them, to spend some time since I had missed the funeral. I was feeling pretty piss miserable today. It wasn't even a bad day, I'm just completely out of potions right now, on a bit of a downswing and especially female all at once. So, my wonderful husband decided to give me an early Christmas present to cheer me up. And because he hates waiting and he finally saw a crack in my resolve.
