Home for the duration
I love my home. It's comfortable, has plenty of room to spread out, and has a nice yard. If you'd asked me in the Fall if I would like to work from home, I would have asked where I could sign up. Well, it's been more than a week, and the water has finally stabalized. We've been fortunate enough not to flood, but there are over 1500 in our little town that have water in their houses. While the water has crested, it won't start going down for another 5 or 6 days. And now there's the next monster storm, Irma, headed for Florida. What a year -
Flood Tales
Just a quick note for those who may have seen the flooding in Houston. It's about as bad as it can get, but I live 60 miles south of Houston, and we were fortunate enough to miss a lot of the rain. Hello my friends! I am in fact still in the land of the living, mostly. It's been a heck of a year so far, Burt's mother had been sick with Pulmonary Fibrosis for about 5 years, and took a drastic turn for the worse in January. long week
I am so very glad this week is over. It's been an extremely rough one, and in some ways my heart is broken. My head knows that this situation is not my fault, but my heart wonders if there wasn't something else I could have done. Sorrow. -
Long time.
It's been awhile. Actually, it's been a long while. I have three in college now, and life is very complicated and complex. A year and a half ago we took in a young man in my son's class so that he could finish school...he still lives with us, so that makes us a four child family. Boston
This has been a difficult week for lots of people, particularly for those who live in Boston, or for those of us who have loved ones there. Monday there was a 20 minute period where I couldn't get through to Bethany, who is at Boston University and requents Copely Square. Finally got ahold of her and she was fine.
