Went to Texas Renaissance Festival, finally, after being rained out on a previous try, along with aoi_tsuki1, mister_valiant, and kmccullough83. It was a long trip, but a great day for the fair. I put pictures up on photobucket.

aoi-tsuki1's birthday weekend was very nice: First, we went to see Brave again, this time with my mom, on Saturday. Sunday was the big day, with kmccullough83 and mister_valiant visiting, most of aoi_tsuki1's siblings, and tons of food. The Korra season finale was great--everything you wanted to happen did. There was a deus ex machina moment at the end, but I felt the characters had earned it through lots of adversity. And besides, Avatar powers have always been plot-device-y, kicking in when it's most convenient. People feel that Korra got her powers too easily. In Korra's ( Read more... )

I've finally begun playing Final Fantasy XIII recently, and am happy to report that it's great! I'd been wary of it for a long time since the characters seem cliched on paper, but it turns out that they work great as an ensemble cast. I seem to be the only person who wholeheartedly loves Legend of Korra. aoi_tsuki1's complaint is that the bad guys are too powerful, and the protagonists spend all their time just reacting to them and being toyed with.
