Head shrunk
Aaaaaah 2014. I've felt some of the weight has lifted already. December was crazy and stressful, mostly work-induced. Christmas was difficult as yet another wave of ended-relationship misery crashed into me. Saturday night I went to the Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival with Jade and a few of her coworkers. It was fun to get out, the girls were nice, we all shared sips and bites, I chose some fantastic wines to taste, and the food (and cheese!) was all delicious!! Not that long ago Mike made a comment to me about how I must be so disappointed, that I got neither the boyfriend nor the cat that I wanted. It was an offhand remark, but it settled deep into my psyche. I'm not always as grateful as I should be, nor am I as accepting as the world around me needs me to be. Yesterday was a bit better. The talk with Stevie has really helped me have a clearer perspective on this, and while it still hurts like hell, it also feels like maybe a scab is starting to form, like the wound isn't quite so raw.
