A small but happy group joined me for the Oscar Party last Sunday night. Only 5 of us, we had a good time. Hugo threw all of us off winning a bunch of what us common folk call the lesser awards. Just finished watching HBO's mini series The Pacific. This was produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg as something of a sequel to Band of Brothers. I've only heard from one other person who has watched them both, and Tom liked Band of Brothers, but not so much The Pacific. Pacific just didn't hold up to it for Tom. Saw Avatar with Preston and my mother last Monday. Funny thing, we didn't see it in 3D. Apparently, there is still projectors specially involved, so our theater has only one. This was without a doubt the most fun I have had at a movie in a long time! I truly had tears of laughter the entire movie. My ribs hurt today. Grant you, half the fun was seeing which ABBA song was going to show up where, but still, it was great fun. This was written and produced by the two males of the ABBA musical group. Preston and I got to see "Hancock" with mother last evening. We are horribly behind on our theater time, but there it is. We all liked it a lot. It's a great modern day super hero movie and that's all there is to it. Will Smith doing what he does best, effortlessly. I wasn't expecting it to be anymore than it was.
