Pondering on movies

Just finished watching HBO's mini series The Pacific. This was produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg as something of a sequel to Band of Brothers. I've only heard from one other person who has watched them both, and Tom liked Band of Brothers, but not so much The Pacific. Pacific just didn't hold up to it for Tom. I'm persuaded the difference

Eh, war movies. Eh. Not at this time.

I have The Other Boleyn Girl on my list to watch, but haven't yet.

The Golden Age-- it is just absolutely gorgeous isn't it? The plot is not as tight as the first movie, but then... unless one abandons history entirely in one's historical movies, sometimes life just doesn't have a tight plot. Oh my gosh yes, Clive Owen in Elizabethan. Oh my! You actually bought the movie for me. I should rewatch it and have more specific opinions. :-)
