This last Saturday my community theatre had an acting/directing workshop with a visiting instructor from East Central University. I had a great time. The play is "A Tuna Christmas", yes, obviously a Christmas theme. Zona was wanting a holiday piece, and this is as close as we can get. We perform the weekend before Thanksgiving. Friday night, Dugan and I and her daughter went to see "The Full Monty" play at Muskogee Little Theater. Yes, the play, it's a musical too, written as an adaptation after the movie. It was great. I have a quandary. One of our young directors in the community theatre wants to do "The Fantasticks". Many people have at least heard of it. It's the longest running play in America, and it is a musical. I can say I have finally read the script, and seen the movie produced in 1995. The set is very minimal, same for props. Amazingly, we had a huge turnout for the play auditions. I had 7 roles to fill, and we had 11 women. This is truly big. Usually we just manage to fill the roles, sometimes beating the bushes and begging.
