Friday night, Dugan and I and her daughter went to see "The Full Monty" play at Muskogee Little Theater. Yes, the play, it's a musical too, written as an adaptation after the movie. It was great. Americanized, any parts that didn't make sense in the movie were cleared up in the play. Not that I recall the movie being that complicated. Mainly, I was jealous. It's a men heavy play (obviously) and they sing, and they are willing to take their clothes off! If you've seen the movie, then you also know most of the men were not anyone you'd expect to see taking their clothes off, and these guys in the play fit the parts well. I'm jealous because McAlester Community Theatre can barely scrape up one or two guys for a play. We are ambitiously planning on a musical in February, which will also need men. There were 14 men in their play and all sang at least chorus. Actually, singing was their weakest part, but again, I'm not complaining!
Also, Preston and I are netflixing "Beauty and the Beast". For whatever reasons, I didn't watch this series when it was on. I'm probably the only one here who didn't know it was the creation of George R.R. Martin. In spite of the dated clothing and computers, I'm enjoying the show. As a matter of fact, I always liked the jackets and colors of the early 80's, if not the shoulder pads.
