Got my River Song Texas Tuxedo costume mostly done in time for TimeGate (THIS WEEKEND!) except for the boots. Somehow I just really thought I'd be able to find some cheap western style boots or shoes at Goodwill, or at one of the many shoe stores around in a pinch. Nope ( Read more... ) -

The tornadoes that hit Joplin, MO last night are horrifying. The Washington Post has a round up of stories and videos. The video just less than halfway down the page, "What it sounds like when a tornado hits" ? That is easily one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen. Heard, rather, for the video is mostly too dark to see anything.

ALSO ALSO. There is a movie being filmed here, parts of it less than a mile from my house. Apparently Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester from Glee) is in it. It's all terribly exciting. Atlanta area peeps interested in trying out as extras should keep an eye out here-

Made an interesting discovery. You know what might turn out to be a good source for insanely curly River Song wigs?
As recommended by my black Aunt, wig companies marketed at African-American women. Which have a surprising number of wigs in shades of blonde with gorgeous foofy volume, at really reasonable prices. Like, less than $20. Lace front ( Read more... ) -

It is positively mind boggling how many people list belts for sale on ebay, and neglect to mention the size anywhere in the auction. I'm not buying a holster belt for display on the wall, people. I need to know it'll hang on my hips and not either cut off circulation or slide down around my ankles.
