1) The Doctor's Wife.
Absolutely, without question, no doubt my favorite episode of the Matt Smith era. I am so incredibly flaility with glee that I cannot hope to be coherent about it yet, and will attempt to review it sometime later. Like Wednesday. Wednesday of next year, maybe. Suffice to say that I am vindicated in my most deeply cherished ( Read more... )

ha, your panel topics sound like a lot more fun to discuss than real Real World Issues in Who.

And your reaction to the Doctor's Wife has made me want to watch it again. So I am, um, watching it again.

Hee! I think it's going to be a fascinating panel, actually, and I'm really looking forward to being part of it. But as it's the very last panel of the weekend, I'll probably be punch-drunk tired and just sit there grinning like an idiot.

I haven't rewatched it yet! But I'm dying to do so, maybe I'll be able to make the time, spike Grams' tea with some benadryl so I can commandeer the tv tomorrow.

That panel sounds far more fun than the probable actual topics. :)

Finally got a chance to watch TDW this morning! I was already flaility about two minutes in because they used the message box from The War Games, and I continued the flaility from there. :) I have a feeling there will be many Idris costumes showing up in the future!

*snicker* It's going to be a fascinating panel, I think, but the potential for silliness calls to me.

The glowy message boxes! Yep, that was my first squee too.
I may continue my fine tradition of destroying vintage saris to create costumes with my Idris interpretation. I have this gorgeous gray-blue silk sari that I've never been able to bring myself to cut because it is so insanely beautiful, but it's the perfect color for her skirt. But that seems so wasteful, because it wouldn't use the hand-woven edging. But the color and the sheen are so perfect!

Hahaha, fabric dilemmas!

It's by no means exact, but a lace like this (plus some dextrous use of grey spray paint) might do in a pinch.

That would be an awesome costume! Something similar to the message cubes should be super easy to put together, at Hobby Lobby you should be able to find a cube photo frame like this or a glass vase like this- just hold the open side towards your palm. In the paper section they have a semi-translucent plasticized paper that you could cut to size to look like frosted glass, stick a mini flashlight from Dollar Tree in and voila!
