Well, darn.

Got my River Song Texas Tuxedo costume mostly done in time for TimeGate (THIS WEEKEND!) except for the boots. Somehow I just really thought I'd be able to find some cheap western style boots or shoes at Goodwill, or at one of the many shoe stores around in a pinch. Nope ( Read more... )

Yay for River Song! Sorry to hear about your tooth, I had the same thing happen in January, I'm still paying that lovely crown off.

Can't wait to see you this weekend!

Apparently it was a tooth filled years ago, and just now half of the remaining tooth just gave up and crumbled. Ick.

So looking forward to seeing you, too! It's going to be a great weekend.

Isn't that frustrating how "simple" shoes can be so hard? I don't mind paying more if it's something I'll wear in everyday life, but when you're going to have to pay through the nose for something you wouldn't normally be caught dead in, accuracy suddenly become less important. Her jeans hide most of her shoes, though, right? I think any kind of brown or black flat shoes would work well enough.

I shall forever cherish the flipflop incident, though. :) And I'm really looking forward to your River!

Don't your teeth understand that quite enough of your body is falling apart already without them getting in on the action?

I'll always remember you getting down on your knees to help me change shoes when I was so stiff and sore, that was just incredibly sweet.

I'm not too fussed about the shoes, have some plain brown that will make do. But I know there are always cowboy boots at Goodwill, until I needed them.

Apparently the crumbling tooth could be related to the meds. Hopefully not, hate to think this was the start of a trend. It is a tooth that was filled years ago, so probably just weak.

It's funny, I was going to offer to look for cowboy boots here before I left, but I realize I haven't seen any for a couple of months now. Maybe there's a shortage. We probably should have sunk all our investments into second-hand cowboy boots.

Hopefully the bad tooth was a loner. I would hate to think that it was swaying the rest of your teeth with its rotten arguments.

Is MJ coming with you this weekend? I always think I'd like to get to know her better, and we usually just end up saying "Hi!" in passing.

FYI, should you have any car trouble while in metro Atlanta again, call 511 to request a H.E.R.O. unit. Info here. I don't know their holiday weekend schedule but it's nice to have a hero on call.

I wasn't even eating at the time! Woke up with strange rocky thing in my mouth, was crumbled tooth bits. But I have been enjoying some extremely crunchy granola bars lately. Couldn't resist the name, the brand is Mrs May's. ;)

(hugs)

Teeth are the very devil! :(

I got some cowboy boots last year at Target for two of Amy's S5 outfits. They aren't tall enough, but I'm not fashed about it, as the Scots would say. :) So you might check the clearance shoes section at your near-by Targets.

Goodwill? Remind the Prof to tell you the horror story of how he worked one day at a Goodwill. :(

There are some cute reasonably priced western boots on Target's website, but none of the local stores seem to have them in stock and I waited too long to order. Guess it's too late in the season.

BTW, you said you were going to email me about the panel, but if you did I never received it. No worries, we can talk there, just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you if it got eaten by the spam filter.
