Made an interesting discovery. You know what might turn out to be a good source for insanely curly River Song wigs?
As recommended by my black Aunt, wig companies marketed at African-American women. Which have a surprising number of wigs in shades of blonde with gorgeous foofy volume, at really reasonable prices. Like, less than $20. Lace front wigs for $30. And there's a whole network of women on youtube who review these wigs, show them in action and after a few wearings and such. The caps tend to be dark, to blend with darker scalps, but that's okay because she tends to have really dark roots.
Here's two I'm thinking on. Pics under cuts to save your flist.
Pandorica River- $19
The reviews show that with a bit of judicial picking this one gets really insanely foofy.
Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon River
This one is a half-wig, $16. Her hair color here is not so different from my own, with a bit of sun-in. (You all have probably only ever seen me with extra red in my hair, but it's really more strawberry.) If I curled just my front hair with this, might work and look more natural than a full wig? I'm uncertain.
Or possibly I could just get some weave hair
like this in color 27 to add volume to mine.
So! Thoughts?
