Brave the Rain
As it seems to be a necessity at this point, forcing myself to be out and abou tin the rain. Weather has been getting cold (around 60F) and wet, even on days it's not supposed to. Vacation so far...
Dad sent me his old Garmin 60C, so I put topographical maps on it. Works fine out in the open, but loses signal in the heavy trees. Tested it some over the weekend, but didn't get to use the topo function until Sunday, as I only put maps for that region on it (I90 corridor, so Cougar Mtn, Tiger Mtn, Squak Mtn, etc ( Read more... ) -
Movie: Scorpion King 3
Amazingly bad. I don't remember why I added it to my Netflix queue, but I watched it anyway. Ron Perlman had a supporting role, but wasn't in it long enough to enhance the film any. Uneventful Xmas, so far...
Lost most of Christmas Eve to lack of sleep. Didn't sleep much the night of the 22nd, flew out just before midnight on the 23rd, couldn't sleep on the plane. Got to Flint around noon on Xmas Eve, drove up to Saginaw. Took a 2 hour nap after a quick lunch of my favorite diner (The Bringer Inn off Michigan Ave). Managed to snag my original MOS (94Y, electronics repair technician), although with the influx of Army recruits due to the economy, the bonuses are pretty much gone.
