Brave the Rain

Jun 26, 2012 15:41

As it seems to be a necessity at this point, forcing myself to be out and abou tin the rain. Weather has been getting cold (around 60F) and wet, even on days it's not supposed to. Yesterday involved a nice warm, reasonably sunny day that turned into rain the moment I hit the rail trail to use the bike. Went to Yelm, only did about 8 miles, but ended up soaked to the bone despite the heavy sweatshirt. Also saw Men In Black 3 that morning, which was pretty good.

Today I checked out Coal Creek again, from the Red Town trailhead to the Coal Creek Parkway trailhead and back, plus some side trails. Didn't have my camera for that, but it had some nice things, including a small waterfall (North Fork). If it's ever dry, it'd be a nice place to run. Red Town TH is also the main trailhead for Cougar Mtn, which is full of great trails and interesting old mining stuff, but I decided to wait until the weather wasn't pissing down upon me. Since I was near I-90, went over the pass to Twin Falls (exit 34), hiked that little trail in the (now very heavy) rain, got a few shots of the falls, but the battery was near death on the camera, so didn't do much more. Successful day, 'tho, as Cougar Mtn is now scouted out and ready for later this or next week. Pray for sun, people. It could happen.
