We are back safe from GenCon 2011 in Indianapolis. We had a really great time, and are REALLY happy to be home with the kitties.

Along with the Masses of Humanity, we saw an 11 foot-high Abe Lincoln, poison ivy, scarecrow, cat woman (batman was not discovered, unless you count the guy in the boffer field that looked like a renaissance batman XD)  ( Read more... )

Have found an interesting flashcard learning program, called Anki.

Anki is free to download, and impressively simple to understand. It has a large user-made database of "decks" of flash cards for a huge range of languages and study topics, and seems easy enough to edit or create your own. Just completed my first GIA class!
It was limited to 3 months and cost $150. (I got it done in about 6 weeks.)

The next one is limited to 18 months and costs $1400 plus books and supplies...

And then after that i have to start figuring out when i can go to New York (or southern California) for two weeks.
