Have found an interesting flashcard learning program, called Anki.

Anki is free to download, and impressively simple to understand. It has a large user-made database of "decks" of flash cards for a huge range of languages and study topics, and seems easy enough to edit or create your own. It can handle all sorts of media, so some language decks come
