Daisy June 25th, 1994 - July 11th, 2011
Today our beloved Daisy was put to rest at the ripe and stubborn old age of 17. Three quarters Keeshond, one quarter Border Collie, she lived well past her expected age range and brought a lot of laughter, mess, noise, frustration and love to our lives.

On Sunday I got the news that our dog Ernie had been diagnosed with Evans Syndrome, which is an autoimmune disease in which an individual's antibodies attack their own red blood cells and platelets. Goodbye
This morning the sweetest prettiest little girl cat was put down. She'd been bleeding steadily from the nose for the last two days, though she was fine on Saturday. The vet said it was now certainly a tumor that had grown past the point of being able to do anything about it.

I wish the vet would make up their mind. When I first first picked up Willow Heather told me that they didn't think it was an infection. Well after all this crap today Heather calls to say the vet called her, they think it's a viral infection so stop the eye drops I have and use two new meds. Oh and she was born blind. Update
Took her in to the vet this morning. The vet came out and sat me down, she said she'd call the opthomologist (? eye doctor I think) and they'd see if it's just a tumor. If it's just a tumor they'll operate and see what happens after that. If it's not a tumor they're going to have to put her down ( Read more... ) -
maybe fostering wasn't such a great plan after all...

So we got a new foster several days ago, on Thursday I believe. We'd seen her in the cages our group uses at Petsmart on Tuesday, and had to talk to the employees there as her eye was bleeding. Structurally: We are ground floor of a three story apartment building, which is very sturdy in and of itself but the two floor to ceiling windows, one in each room, would be a disadvantage to the extreme.
