Feeling adventurous I attempted to CNC in aluminum last night.

I had problems - which I expected. And broke a bit, which I am not happy about but expected.
It is going to take more trial and error to find the setting that work, but it looks doable.
Using a 1/4 in flat mill bit I did the rough cut ( Read more... )

I played with the machine settings in My CNC software. I was able to set it up to automate some of the adjustments made when changing tools. This makes the print process so MUCH simpler ( Read more... )

I have been working with the CNC set up. I managed to get the program running in a XP dos shell. This makes things a lot easier. I can alt-tab out to make changes to the model and print codes without having to reboot and reset everything.
