I took yesterday off from NaNo entirely - I took yesterday off from everything entirely. That turned out to be a good decision; today, despite the hellish headache that showed up a day late from the weather change, I did 2300 words and broke 25K quite solidly. Writing Time: 1600 on my lunch hour, 800 on the train home in 20 minutes. Last 1800 took about 4 hours.

2667 words today, so I've only 2500 words left (4500 if I can't somehow get hold of what i left on my desktop, grah.) Politics are annoying; Elizabeth is for the win. And now, I quit. I can haz music and readings. Yay!

I was discussing fic with first_seventhe today, and something occurred to me that I've been wanting to talk about for a while, if only to get it out of my own head. It has to do with writing and point of view, and the literary tropes that I tend to employ when I'm writing, whether consciously or not.

My brain is goo. I added it all up, and I have written about 26,500 words in the last 30 days. (This is just on challenge fic, mind, and has naught to do with anything ELSE I've been scribbling on, like gift drabbles.) So, I find it interesting the ways in which my writing style has evolved. I used to really struggle with dialogue and preferred to tell about the events, and not have people talking so much.
