So, one of the reasons we moved, and one of the reasons we love this house and its neighborhood, is that Cassie has gone from having no playmates on the street, to having several. There's a family of three kids right across the street from us, another kid from her class next door to him, and a passel of kids here and there that all play together. ( Read more... )

Cassie was just sent home from school (second time this week; kindergarten's really giving her immune system a workout) with an ear infection.

At least Q doesn't have one right now?

Argh.

N.B.: Six-year-olds do not handle the pain of an EI as well as one-year-olds do.

Quentin continues to have issues with his ears. He just got over another EI, and his ears are draining again. We have drops, and we're using them. The ENT says that he could just have a cold (which, upon review, makes sense. He's also got a cough and runny nose, and sometimes when you have a cold your ears get stuffed up, right? Quentin had his 15-month checkup yesterday, at which we learned that he's gained less than a pound in the last three months, and is a good two inches shorter than Cassie was at this age. He's my wee little guy. He eats fine though, and had a stomach bug in the past 3 months, so we're not worried.

I feel like I need to add an epilogue to my last post, in which Cassie had gotten sick again, and of the same kind. Later that same day, Jay came down with it, and then I did.
