Got around to re-watching the old movie, just in time. Ok, so the dialog is Saturday-morning terrible, but that's to be expected. And Wheelie really is insufferable, but fortunately has few lines. I had a sudden urge to catch up on childhood nostalgia before it gets all blockbuster-ified. So I went out and bought a copy of the (urk) 21-year-old version of that movie that I thought was coming out on the 4th, but which Google just now tells me had a couple preview showings last midnight and goes into wide release on Monday. Well, that was a rollicking good flick, if I do say so. Most movies with that many scenes would bog down (it was at least three freckin' hours long), but this pretty much kept being entertaining. I've been pondering catching King Kong on the big screen, which I missed when it first came out since I was traveling a lot. Anyone who's seen it want to offer an opinion of its entertainment value? Anyone who has or hasn't seen it want to catch it with me some time this weekend?
