Got around to re-watching the old movie, just in time. Ok, so the dialog is Saturday-morning terrible, but that's to be expected. And Wheelie really is insufferable, but fortunately has few lines. Much more fun is had listening to Orson Welles, Eric Idle, and Leonard Nemoy being incredibly goofy. Nothing like that huge baritone with added ( Read more... )

Ben has way too much knowledge regarding Transformers for one person.

But, I haven't seen the old movie. Casey Kasem! Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle and Orson Welles???? !!! Who knew indeed.

Nah, that's all available in the credits, but you have to watch them.

(PS, dear, it's KoIchi.)

Pfft, it's not like you really need credits to verify the voices of Welles, Nemoy, and Idle. They're fairly distinctive. Well, ok, Nemoy as Galvatron is easy to miss just because you're totally not expecting it, but once you listen for it it's obvious in hindsight.

I swear I had Koichi before; I must've lost the i while mucking around and deciding not to bother with the accented ô.

It was also Orson Welles' last movie.

I have always been excessively amused at the people they got for the movie. Orson Welles, for God's sake.

I have no interest in the new movie, but have fun on my behalf. I'm thinking about sleeping through most of tomorrow. Oh, and I have something for you.

I wanna! I wanna! There are several lines immediately after key moments that i missed because everyone in the theatre was cheering too loudly :)

Stupid 3000 miles between here and there =P

Oh, and you weren't the only one with that idea, there were actually people in the line for the movie yesterday who were watching the first movie on portable DVD players or ipods or PSPs or whatever :)

I hope to FSM there's no cheering in the theater when we see it.

Normally i can't stand people making noise in theatres, but when it's a premiere event and you're seeing it with a bunch of other fans that you've been waiting in line with for hours it somehow goes from being an annoyance to being a community event.

Hopefully though if you're doing a matinee showing the day after release (they did bump it up to today rather than the 4th didn't they?) there won't be too many overly-enthusiastic fanboys there.

I could be convinced (and Mo says he'd be up for it too) to go see it tomorrow. Either 1PM or 4PM should work for us.

I wouldn't mind tagging along for either such show, too. Michael Bay entertains me, what can I say?

*raises hand* I knew. Lots of nifty people worked on that movie. And, of course, Peter Cullen is awesome, even if he's done barely anything other than cartoon voice acting.
