Introduction / One / Two / Three / Four / Five / Six / Seven

Faramound:

The loss of Samantha had been devastating for William and Victor, but they both knew she would have been furious with them if they didn’t go ahead with the planned celebration for Victor’s twenty-first birthday.

Victor’s girlfriend was there of course, all though with her shy personality she found all the people in attendance a little overwhelming. Victor had grown up spending his time with people older than himself and didn’t notice the age gap between himself and his guests like Carolina did.

Victor did notice that she was keeping to herself though and quickly reassured her how important it was that she was there. He admitted he couldn’t imagine life without her by his side and asked her to move in.

The party ran into the late hours of the morning, and although a patrol car came past, it seemed no one was really willing to break up a party at the mayor’s house.

Carolina moved in and the two celebrated his birthday privately. It wasn’t long before Victor proposed, an offer Carolina happily accepted.

The two were married with many friends and family in attendance on what everyone agreed was a perfect day.

As evening fell, Victor was still happily chatting with all their guests while Carolina gratefully accepted William’s offer of a game of chess. William got along very well with his now daughter-in-law, and understood that, like he, she would rather have her nose in a book than be at a party.

Carolina’s closeness to her father-in-law made her feel like she too was losing a father when William passed away. But it wasn’t only William’s family that grieved, all of Forest Heights mourned the passing of the man who had founded what was now their home.

Just when Victor and Carolina thought they couldn’t possibly grieve any more, Carolina lost the baby she had only just learnt she was carrying. This second loss so soon after William’s death was devastating for the newlyweds.

Victor threw himself into his work and was quickly promoted to his late father’s position as Mayor. Carolina found herself struggling to recover, suffering from nightmares and feeling reluctant to really do anything.

Wanting to help his wife, and build a monument to his late father, Victor had a fountain and pond built in their yard as a memorial to William and their lost baby. It became a peaceful and serene place, and both Victor, and Carolina, found themselves looking towards the future with new hope.

Barkworth:

Di and Frank were still very much in love, and since Di’s retirement, were happily spending every minute they could in each other’s arms.

Edward and Mona had also been spending a lot of time in each other’s arms, and Mona soon found herself pregnant. Mona was very romance minded, but had also had strong family values, and as such was both reluctant and excited at the prospect of motherhood. Edward, who had never really given marriage much thought, asked whether Mona wanted to get married, but she assured him “that wouldn’t be necessary”.

Di was disappointed her son wasn’t going to get married, but kept her feelings to herself, instead focusing on the joy of expecting a new grandchild.

Frank, although he too would have loved for his son to be married, recognised Mona wasn’t ready for the commitment, although he had no doubt she would be a loving and attentive mother.

Unfortunately Frank Edmundson would never meet his grandchild, passing away peacefully at home, leaving behind his wife and three sons.

It may have been the loss of his father, or simply the closeness of Mona’s due date, but Edward couldn’t help but begin to be excited about the prospect of becoming a father.

Mona delivered a healthy baby girl with her parent’s black hair and mother’s emerald eyes, who they named Esmeralda.

The family couldn’t believe how quickly Esmeralda grew, quickly becoming a sweet although very active and outgoing toddler (7/9/9/3/7).

Esmeralda had been utterly adored by her grandmother, and it had been Di who had been the one to get up to her during the night and teach her how to walk and talk. She would have loved to have seen her granddaughter start school, but it was not to be, Diana Edmundson (née Barkworth) passed away leaving behind three children and two grandchildren.

Edmundson:

Endora and Brian continued to juggle their work schedules successfully, continuing to climb the science career ladder as well as making sure their son Albert was happy and healthy. He had recently celebrated his birthday and like his parents was very outgoing (4/8/4/3/6).

Life became less of juggling act when Endora went on maternity leave with their second child.

Soon they were joined by bouncing baby girl they named Marie, who had her father’s black hair and parent’s brown eyes.

Endora quickly returned to work and soon reached the top of the science career. Before she could even begin discussing building a research facility with Victor, her sister Guinevere persuaded her to leave her job to work for her new business.

She still kept in touch with her colleagues from her previous career, even those she felt she probably shouldn’t. Like her husband, Scott Hanby had similar dreams and aspirations to hers, but there was extra chemistry with Scott which Endora fought to ignore.

The children’s birthdays came around quickly. Albert began school and Marie grew into a toddler who was much more active and playful than her brother, although also more prone to tantrums (4/7/10/6/3).

But by the time Marie celebrated her next birthday, her parent’s relationship was in tatters, and her father, despite that it hurt him to do so, was to divorce her mother.

Pauwau:

Evan adored being a father to his and Morgana’s new baby daughter. They named her Franchesca after Evan’s father Frank who passed away just before she was born.

Morgana too loved being a parent, and by the time Franchesca had grown into active and playful toddler (5/3/9/7/1), she was once again expecting.

Morgana had always been a ‘people person’ and loved making new friends. Happily, one of the things she discovered about being pregnant and a mother was that she suddenly had common interests to talk about with people she probably wouldn’t have had otherwise.

Danielle Pauwau had worked hard to succeed in the law career, but her hardest work had gone into her family. She died knowing she had succeeded in teaching her daughters to be self sufficient and was very proud of them. She left behind three daughters and three, soon to be four, grandchildren.

The family's grief over losing Danielle was eased when they were joined by another raven haired baby girl they named Ella.

Aside from being a devoted father to both his daughters, Evan also achieved his life’s dream of becoming a celebrity chef. Ella soon grew into a toddler, and like her sister (who, with Evan's encouragement now had a lovely temperament) was kind and playful (5/3/4/7/7).

Evan and Morgana’s lives had been very busy with full time jobs and two children, but they both knew they wanted to try and spend more time with their families. It was important to both of them that Franchesca (who had now started school) and Ella to know their aunts, uncles and cousins.

Uduak:

Despite Samuel’s death, the restaurant continued as he had wished for it to do. Winter had been studying cooking since her teen years and took over as chef, while Scott continued to help out front of house when he wasn’t working. They employed Mona Rusewicz temporarily while Caitlin stayed at home to care for Michael, Ebony and Julie.

Soon Winter and Scott’s first born celebrated his birthday and became a teenager who, like many teenagers, was focused mostly on spending time with his friends.

Not long after Michael’s birthday, Julie celebrated hers and joined her sister at school. This allowed Caitlin to return to the restaurant and for Scott to focus fully on climbing the science career ladder.

It wasn’t only working towards his life’s dream that made Scott enjoy his work. Before she left to work for her sister’s business, Scott and Endora often worked side by side and had quickly became good friends. But it wasn’t only similar interests and aspirations that drew them to each other, they soon realised there was chemistry between them that neither of them had with their spouses.

They really did try and fight their ‘three bolt’ attraction, but in the end it proved futile and they gave in to their undeniable attraction to each other.

Scott’s plan to come clean to his wife was put on hold when Winter’s mother died. Caitlin Uduak, who was the last of the first settlers in Forest Heights, was responsible for establishing a police station for her community. She would be greatly missed by her daughter and three grandchildren.

And while he supported his wife as she grieved over the loss of her mother, he struggled to stay away from Endora. Eventually he had no choice but to tell Winter the truth, Michael made it clear that if his dad didn’t, he would.

Winter was hurt, but mostly furious. She knew she and her husband didn’t have the ‘three bolt’ chemistry of romance novels, but she certainly hadn’t been out searching for it. Scott tried to explain that he hadn’t either, that it had happened completely by chance, but Winter didn’t want to hear it and ordered Scott to leave immediately.

Dallas:

After another difficult pregnancy, Adriana delivered a second baby boy they named Dean.

Neither Zachary nor Adriana could believe how fast their boys were growing. Sam had now begun school and Dean celebrated his birthday, quickly showing his parents that his temperament was almost identical to his brother’s (4/10/4/4/10) and that, like the rest of his family, he loved music.

Zach and Adriana knew Sam desperately wanted a piano, and knowing how happy it would make him, and wanting to reward his good marks at school, they saved up to buy him one. The family was never going to have an enormous amount of money on Zach’s wage as a waiter, but the sound of Sam carefully practicing was the sweetest music they had ever heard.

Before they knew it, it was time for the family to celebrate a double birthday for Sam and Dean. Although the kids were pretty much in bed as soon as the candles had been blown out, the adults enjoyed having an evening with friends and family.

Soon they were celebrating again for Zach’s birthday, which was once again a fun and lively evening with friends and family.

Even now Zachary was an elder, he and Adriana were still as much in love as the day they were married. They may lead very simple lives without fancy belongings or glamorous careers, but they couldn’t imagine being any happier.

Edmundson:

After being at the top of the law career for quite some time, Guinevere decided she wanted to try a new venture. Her younger sister Endora had perfected robotics in her teens, and Guinevere believed if Endora could craft them, there was a place in the market for her to sell them. Eric was supportive of the idea, and agreed he would help out in the shop when he wasn’t working at the university.

Guinevere purchased a plot of land behind Samuel’s restaurant, and soon the modest two storey headquarters of Little Sister Robotics was completed. The ground floor space was home to the shop, and was decorated in the businesses trademark colour of red.

The second storey held staff amenities as well as being where the production of the robots would take place.

Endora was very enthusiastic to work for her sister, despite only recently being promoted to the top of the science career. Endora said she just felt that a new working environment would be the best thing for her.

The overwhelming success of Little Sister Robotics surprised even Guinevere who had every belief that the venture would succeed. The only thing that surprised her more was when Eric proposed. She knew it was most likely the recent death of his mother that had made him overcome his reluctance for official commitment, but she was happy none the less and accepted.

The success of the business, as well as their high earning jobs, meant Eric and Guinevere could afford to completely rebuild their home. The finished building was definitely a departure from the weatherboard structures the first settlers of Forest Heights had built.

Farmer:

Bethany delivered a brown haired, blue eyed boy they named Danny.

Despite struggling to keep on top of bills, the Farmer family loved when they had guests and always put a meal on the table. It wasn’t long before they earned a reputation for being kind and generous people.

A constant schedule of looking after two young children, tending the farm and for Bethany, working, meant time flew. Soon Danny had grown into a shy, although playful toddler (6/9/8/8/6) and Billy began school.
