Introduction /
Week One /
Week Two Faramound:
Although Frank Snr had passed away, Samantha was still cautious about how her moving in with another man so soon might affect her son. William, patient as ever told her he understood, and continued to focus on his career, gaining the position of senator.
He did make his first decision to use town funds though, building a small but serene cemetery, where Frank Edmundson was laid to rest.
Barkworth:
Eric and Evan were exhausting to look after, not only to their parents, but their aunt who helped when she could despite working full time. It became all a little too overwhelming for Sky who jumped at the opportunity to live in a less chaotic house half way through the week.
Not that she would ever tell her Diana, but her sister’s constant interference in her life was another reason she took the chance to move. She knew it was her sister’s way of showing concern, but Sky was an adult and entitled to make her own decisions without having to always hear her sister’s opinion.
Funnily, after Sky’s departure, Di and Frank established a routine for their boys which calmed things in the household considerably. This made it much easier for them to spend quality time with their sons.
And each other.
Soon the boys celebrated their birthdays and began school. Evan loved sports and would spend hours shooting hoops in the backyard, exhausting himself until he could barely drag himself into bed. Eric on the other hand, although he’d play with his brother sometimes, was more content with inside activities.
As Di’s pregnancy progressed, she and Frank became very excited at the thought of being parents again.
Eric and Evan were less enthused about the idea of a younger sibling, but then again, they had better things to think about.
Like girls.
And it wasn’t like they had to be worried about losing their parents attention anyway; they knew their parents would always have time to play with them.
It was a full house when Di gave birth to a baby boy they name Edward. Eric and Evan decided it wasn’t so bad having a younger sibling after all, especially a brother. Their friends, the Pauwau sisters on the other hand, got really worked up at the thought that one day they might have to do that!
Edmundson:
Samantha and Zach were doing okay by themselves after the death of Frank Snr, but Samantha missed having another adult in the house. She thought it was too soon to move in with William, but as it was, there was no one to look after Zach after school if she did want to go and visit her boyfriend. And often, she just really missed adult conversation.
So the idea occurred to her when she was talking with Sky (the two of them were once again best friends) that she could move in. Sky thought it was a great idea, and as she was working, she could afford to put in money to cover the household bills which helped Samantha out as she was broke and unemployed.
The situation worked out really well, and Sky and Zach also got along famously, even though she constantly beat him at video games.
Another benefit that Sky quickly discovered about living with Samantha, was that there was never any question of Samuel visiting his sister’s house. This gave them a place they could be together without Sky’s sister making her disapproval well known.
Samuel’s sister didn’t disapprove, she knew it was more than possible to love more than one person at once, she only told her brother to be careful. He was getting careless by staying the night, and she just didn’t want to see her brother lose everything.
The very thing that threatened Samuel’s family the most, Sky falling pregnant, happened even though she had been on contraception. Samuel was noticeably absent but finally called late one night and told Sky that he just couldn’t risk telling his wife the truth, it was not only his marriage but his future on the line. Sky was sad, but knew that deep down, she hadn’t expected him to tell her anything else. She instead focused on doing preparing for her unexpected child.
Soon she delivered a black haired baby boy who she named Brian after her father. With her unmistakeable skin, she and Samantha hoped no one would question their story that the late Frank Snr was Brian’s father. Sky’s sister and Frank Jnr knew the truth of course but agreed to stay quiet, although certainly not for Samuel’s sake, but for Sky and Brian. If anyone did question Brian’s paternity, they didn’t mention it.
Brian was doted on by his mother and ‘aunty Samantha’ and grew up very happily into a toddler. An outgoing and playful child (4/8/4/7/6), he brought lots of fun and laughter to those who knew him. Sky could only feel sorry for Samuel, who had since avoided the house, who was missing out on seeing his son grow up.
Pauwau:
Guinevere celebrated her birthday not long after the twins were born and quickly discovered that not only did she have to share a room with her new sisters, but that they took up most of her parent’s attention.
The lack of attention wasn’t helped by the fact that Danielle immediately returned to work, leaving Merlin to take care of the twins and the household mostly by himself. Danielle was also adamant that they open the shop as often as possible and helped run it once she returned from work in the evenings.
The house seemed even more chaotic once the twins celebrated their birthdays. Morgana was definitely the more playful of the two (5/6/10/10/4), even though Endora was more outgoing (10/8/9/3/6).
Sick of being told to play with her sisters when she asked her parents for attention, Guinevere eventually decided to actually give it a go. To her surprise they weren’t as completely boring as she expected.
Although she learnt quickly that she got in trouble when she tried to have any real fun teased them.
The family received an enormous shock when one night they were burgled. The thief didn’t manage to take very much before the family woke up and he escaped, although he did break into the shop and steal Merlin’s pottery wheel.
As far as Danielle was concerned, although she was outraged, it would be simply a case of purchasing another pottery wheel, but Merlin didn’t feel the same way. It wasn’t the missing items that devastated him, it was that his dream of a safe and peaceful country existence for his family had been shattered. He had no desire to make the pottery he once did, and despite therapy, he was still utterly miserable.
Uduak:
Despite success selling paintings, Caitlin was very keen to earn the significant funds needed to open the restaurant both she had her husband dreamed of. Starting out in security, she was quickly accepted into the police force and looked forward to heading out to work each day.
While Samuel enjoyed the prospect of Caitlin being issued with handcuffs, he was less enthused with the idea of his wife being issued with a gun. He could only thank his lucky stars that she was at work when Sky came around and asked him to make a decision regarding his baby. He promised he would call that night, which he did, although his decision not to be part of his child’s life brought him nothing but sadness.
It was no surprise he spent all the more time with his daughter Winter after making his decision. She had now started school and happily spent hours playing chess with her father although she much preferred running around outside.
She also adored when her aunt came over and the two of them would spend hours playing with each other. Winter couldn’t help but think it was weird that her mum kept commenting on the fact her aunt was suddenly visiting them instead of her Daddy visiting her aunt though.
