Week Five So I just realised that I’ve been using the ‘10% of household worth’ tax system instead of the much easier one
nepheris came up with. I assume this is because I forgot to go over the rules the first tax time and have been doing the same thing ever since. Anyway, because I’ve been using familyFunds to have my households pay their taxes, this is why I’ve (unsuccessfully mind you) tried to have each household with a different name, so apologies for the upcoming weeks when the household name has absolutely nothing to do with the family in it.
Faramound:
Until one arrived on his own door step, William had thought the tales of genies were rubbish. But when confronted by the majestic purple being, William’s only thoughts were of Forest Heights, and the wealth he wished for, went directly into the town’s finds.
Receiving the genie lamp wasn’t the only unexpected magic that happened in the household. Zachary had gone out with a townie, with very few expectations, and had incredibly found his ‘three bolter’. Both Zach and Adrianna Dallas were amazed by the serendipity of their meeting, but were more interested in focusing on what their future would bring, than the incredibility on their meeting each other.
Adrianna was a kind sim, and quickly charmed Zach’s mother. That being said, her first meeting was probably helped by the fact that she had managed to dress herself first.
Adrianna also made sure to spend time with Zach’s half-brother Victor who had recently celebrated his birthday. Victor thought playing with Adrianna was a nice change from his friend Edward Emundson who always cheated.
But despite his best friend’s tendency to cheat and just generally disregard rules, the two were very close, and as he lived just across the road he visited most days. The days of William living in quiet solitude were little more than a memory.
In fact trying to find a quiet uninterrupted moment was almost impossible now in the Faramound household. Hence it was little surprise that Zach’s marriage proposal had an audience, and they were all happy to hear Adrianna’s answer was yes.
Dallas:
With Adrianna’s money, and money that Zach’s mother had put away for him, the two were able to buy the plot of land next to his mother and step-father’s place. It was a simple home with second hand furniture, but it was theirs.
They had been saving to hold a big wedding party, but one evening when Zach’s family was visiting, they spontaneously decided to celebrate their wedding there and then. After all, saving for a wedding wasn’t easy on a single income and they had the rest of their lives to spend with their friends.
Barkworth:
Things were very happy for the Edmundson family, although now that the boys were adults, it was also noticably quieter. That being said, their youngest was still in high school and still had friends over. They had always treated their children’s friends as they treated their own children, and would often be asked for advice.
Frank Jnr and Di were proud of the young men the twins had grown into. They were kind and respectful and were hard workers. Even though Evan was holding out for a career in the culinary world, he didn’t slack off, and spent his free time studying and perfecting the skills he would need.
Eric on the other hand, despite originally only taking a job in education for some spare cash all those years ago, had become highly respected as an educator and was now working as a high school principle.
Edward had been closer to Evan growing up, but Eric made an effort to spend some quality time with his younger brother especially as he knew he was feeling a little lost. Edward had his best friend across the road, but the rest of his friends had now finished school and were mostly working full time. He was really good at sports, but in a place as small as Forest Heights, there was never a hope of him playing professionally. Without any real career aspirations, he felt he had little else to do than muck around and date when the opportunity presented itself.
Edmundson:
Despite a rough start to his teenage years, Brian once again returned to his old outgoing self. He was excited by his latest hobby, robotics, and would enthusiastically talk about it to anyone who would listen.
He and his best friend Endora Pauwau had also begun dating. She was a few years older than him, but his maturity more than made up for the age difference. She had an avid interest in science and like Brian had decided to pursue a career in the scientific field, already having secured herself a job.
Sky got along with Endora famously and told her that the moment she wanted to move in, she could. Because of her alien heritage Sky had always grown up feeling she would never be truly accepted for who she was, and she couldn’t have been happier that in their small community, her son hadn’t experienced the same stigma.
And when she though she couldn’t possibly experience any more happiness, she complete her life’s dream of becoming a game designer. A nifty bonus of 65,000 for writing an alien abduction into the storyline of one of her games was just the icing on the cake.
Pauwau:
Guinevere, who had also recently celebrated her adult birthday, decided it was time she and Eric moved into a place of their own. Eric was a little uncertain at first as it just seemed so permanent to move in with each other, but she quickly assured him she wasn’t asking for anything more than what they were already doing, just that they have their own place to do it in. Danielle couldn’t help be saddened at the thought of Guinevere moving out, while she loved all her daughters, she was closest to her eldest.
But the fact was it was impossible to ignore that their girls were growing up and Endora too had already indicated that she was planning on moving in with her boyfriend Brian sooner rather than later.
So there was both sadness and joy for Danielle and Merlin as friends and family came over to celebrate the twins’ birthday. The thin walls of the settlement’s first buildings did little to block noise and the party was soon brought to a standstill by the police. Even though the twins hadn’t even had the chance to blow out the candles on their cake before the police arrived, they both agreed they’d had a great night.
Danielle and Merlin were thrilled with all that their children had achieved in their young lives. Guinevere was earning a ridiculous wage working as an international corporate lawyer, and even though Endora had started working much later than her sisters, her long hours of study were paying off and she had already been asked to teach science at a high school.
Morgana, who as an adult truly resembled her mother at the same age, had also just been promoted. It was a joy to her parents when she discussed the option of her boyfriend Eric moving in with them, as they knew the house would be eerily empty with all three of their children gone.
Danielle and Merlin had certainly had their rough years as well as their good ones. But it was nice in their old age to be able to enjoy a peace of mind they hadn’t always got to enjoy during their younger years.
Edmundson:
Eric, despite his initial reluctance, was very happy living with Guinevere in their new place. It was just a small one bedroom place but had everything they needed.
Not to mention that with both Eric and Guinevere earning big dollars in their respective careers, Guinevere was already making plans for a grand overhaul.
Uduak:
Even though Winter only suffered a little morning sickness, Scott made a huge fuss over his pregnant wife, making sure she never needed for anything and spent most of her time with her feet up. He wouldn’t hear any arguments and took over her responsibilities in the restaurant.
Winter wasn’t the only woman being fussed over as Samuel took the opportunity to try and make amends with his wife. Caitlin had found her anger slowly dissipate as the time passed, and when he was spontaneous and flirty with her, she couldn’t help but be reminded of the charming young man she had married.
And she couldn’t deny that when it came down to it, she missed having him next to her. She missed the cuddles they had before getting up to start their day and sharing her day with him at night before they went to sleep. Sharing her news of her promotion to Captain Hero in the restaurant just wasn’t the same, and it was with great relief to both of them that she invited Samuel back into their bedroom.
In her new position Caitlin was able to advise William on the building of a local police station. This was a great relief to the citizens of Forest Heights who had all been burgled and could now finally install security systems.
Caitlin wasn’t the only one who celebrated a promotion as Samuel finally achieved his life’s dream of becoming a Celebrity Chef. Wanting to capitalise on Samuel’s newly found fame, Samuel and Caitlin moved the restaurant from the front room of their house to a new building across the road from the police station.
After much anticipation, Winter went into labour and delivered a baby boy they named Michael. It seemed the new parents had to almost fight for time with their newborn son as his grandparents absolutely doted on him.
Scott and Winter suspected his grandparents’ constant coddling was part of the reason Michael had such a temper (10/3/9/3/1) but kept those thoughts to themselves.
After all they wouldn’t dream of taking away the joy Samuel and Caitlin found spending time with their grandson. For Samuel there was a touch of sadness watching the young boy grow up as he couldn’t help but regret that he hadn’t been able to do the same with his son Brian.
It wasn’t long before Winter found herself experiencing déjà vu seriously, this picture is nearly identical to the final picture of the last update, and nausea, and discovered she was once again expecting.
