The Mirror reports that artist Prudence Emma Staite has made a Dalek out of spaghetti bolognaise. At least, she says she has; I can't actually work out from the picture which bit is the spaghetti bolognaise, unless it's on the Dalek's head. Working through my newspaper backlog, I came across this charming story in the Daily Telegraph. Apparently, in 1985 Sweden sought British advice on how to protect possibly imaginary monsters living in northern lakes. I've just found out that Eva Svankmajerova, wife and collaborator of Jan Svankmajer, died last month. Apart from the films, she was also a painter, potter and poet. Of particular interest to sallymn, I think.

A giant tub of bubbling chocolate. In Manchester Art Gallery. It was part of the Helen Chadwick Retrospective which my brother had come over to see. You could have fitted the entire Liberator crew in it, and then some guest stars.
