I'd barely got back from Eastercon in London on Monday night, and then I was setting off again for a dinner there on Wednesday, and, as I had a meeting near Kings Cross on Saturday, I decided I might as well stay put for the days in between. Given that Titian painting just bought by the National Gallery [of England] and National Galleries Scotland shows Diana condemning Callisto for being pregnant, it's an odd juxtaposition.

Yesterday I went to Edale for the official preview of the Companion Stones, a project organised by my brother through Arts in the Peak. It's a series of twelve sculptures bearing lines of poetry, each of them to be placed by one of the Derbyshire Guide Stoops, eighteenth-century stone posts bearing directions to nearby market towns ( Read more... )

Last night my brother staged Borderland Constellations on the Staffordshire Roaches, part of his Night Stations series.

He says he continued with this installation partly because our mother knew he was working on it and kept asking about it, and because the Roaches were the site of her first walk with my father.
