Only one of us will help you, the others will make you blind. Find the most expensive pair and you will be able to leave the rest behind.

The boys stood for a moment in dumb silence. “Is that meant to be a riddle, because if so, it’s not a very good one.” Sho finally broke the silence.
“Yeah, like how could a pair of sunglasses help us through that green fire that’s blocking the door?” Aiba pointed at the newly sprung fire which was hissing at them.
“Oh my!” Ohno fell slightly backwards against Nino.
“Can’t we just douse it with water?” Aiba sent out a fountain of water from his wand, but it just seemed to evaporate the second it touched the flames. “Ok…maybe not then.”
“No, we have to use these sunglasses. That’s the whole point of this task, I think. Solving the riddle.” Matsujun pressed a finger against his lips in thought.
“More like knowing how to spot expensive sunglasses.” Sho muttered, eyeing the table. “I mean, like how are we supposed to find them?! They all look new!”
“We’re not looking for the newest ones; we’re looking for the most expensive. It’ll actually be quite simple I think. See, these sunglasses here, they have plastic diamonds encrusted on the side.” Matsujun pointed at the largest pair. “But these,” he said, picking up a pair from the opposite side, “these are real diamonds. So they’re obviously on the more expensive side of the scale.”
The other four boys gazed at Matsujun in amazement. “What!?” Matsujun glared at them. “I can be clever too; I’m not just all pretty looks.” He brushed some fallen hair out of his eyes as he spoke.

“So, I think we can safely count out these three.” Matsujun neatly lined up the three cheap pairs of sunglasses on the left side of the table.
“Hey, what do you think of these? They look pretty cheap to me!” Nino hooked a stubby finger around a bright pink pair; he dangled them in front of Matsujun’s nose.
“No way, they’re defiantly on the more expensive side of the scale.” Long, slender fingers reached out and pulled the sunglasses out of the stubby finger’s grasp. Nino just gave Jun a look of utter unbelief.
“Look at the brand. Here, inscribed on the inside.” Matsujun pointed out the small gold lettering which spelled out the name of a very upmarket brand.
“They could be fakes.” Nino protested, but somehow he knew that Matsujun would have been able to tell the difference between original and fake.
“Nope. Totally not. Fakes are never made of such good quality. Fakes usually weigh lighter than this, and the gold lettering would most certainly not be made of real gold.”
How much time does this guy spend with sunglasses??!! Sho scratched his head, silently watching Matsujun.

A few more minutes past in which Matsujun carefully examined each pair of sunglasses and organised them into his systematic scale; cheapest to most expensive. Finally he was left with only two remaining sunglasses. The diamond encrusted sunglasses and another brand-named pair. He tilted his head to the side slightly, and bit his lip in thought. The diamond encrusted ones were sure to be worth a lot as they would have cost a lot to make. On the other hand however, Brand-named items could sell for extraordinary prices sometimes. Matsujun knew this. Prices sometimes didn’t reflect quality.
“Well?! Which one are we going for?” Nino tapped his foot impatiently on the hard, stone floor.
“Shut up, these could both easily be the most expensive pair. Let me think, ‘kay?!” Came the growled reply. Nino gave a small huff and folded his arms.
“Surely the diamond ones are the most expensive, right?” Sho cocked his head in the same direction as Matsujun.
“Wrong.” Matsujun gave a simple reply, not taking his eyes off the two pairs of sunglasses.
“Brand Names sell, ‘ne, Jun-kun?” Aiba also knew his stuff when it came to accessories.
“Exactly. I think the diamond sunglasses are a trick. They’re too obvious.” Matsujun finally picked them up and placed them with the other sunglasses, now leaving only the brand-named sunglasses in front of him. “It’s these. I’m sure.”
“If you’re sure, you can be the one to try them out first then.” Nino shot a glare at Matsujun.
“Fine. I will.” Matsujun drew himself up to full height, picked up the sunglasses and headed over to the fire. Coolly he pushed the sunglasses onto his nose and peered into the fire, not quite knowing what he had to do. The fire seemed to turn white when viewed through the sunglasses, and four stones leading through the fire stood out against it in stark black. Matsujun carefully stepped onto the first stone. Nothing happened. He took a quick step onto the next. He could hear the others gasp as he headed on through the fire. He couldn’t feel a thing. No heat. No burning.
On the other side of the fire was a heavy wooden lever. Matsujun gave it a hearty tug and the door in front of him swung open.
“Told ya it was these!” He called back to the others as he levitated the sunglasses over for the next boy to reach.

The next room was larger than any of the previous. Aiba peered around Sho, who peered around Nino who held onto Ohno’s arm, who gazed absentmindedly at Matsujun’s sparkling boxers which were peeking out from his artistically-torn school trousers. Matsujun took a step to the side, allowing the other boys to see the large mirror which stood in the centre of the dimly lit room. A few paces in front of the mirror sat a large lion. And there, on the other side of the room, hidden in shadow stood a thin, tall, cloaked figure. The five boys froze.

“Ah~ I thought you boys would eventually get here. Good, good.” The figure walked out of the shadows and into the light. Pulling back his large hood he revealed his true face to the boys. “Professor Akasawa?!” Only Matsujun didn’t look confused.
“But…where’s Lord Kimutaku??!” Aiba scratched his head; unable to think why it was Akasawa he was now seeing. Sho clapped his hand over Aiba’s mouth. “Don’t say his name, its bad luck!”
“At least one of you has some sense.” A chilling voice spoke out, but it wasn’t Akasawa’s. The five boys looked nervously around the room, trying to see where the voice was coming from. But the room seemed empty. A smirk, which reminded Aiba vaguely of Nino, squiggled its way across Akasawa’s narrow face. “My master has been waiting for you. 15 years he’s been unbeaten and he will not be beaten by the likes of any of you!” Akasawa turned away, facing the mirror once more.
“What the fuck is he on about?! 15 years?” Matsujun muttered from behind Aiba.
“Matsumoto Jun, isn’t it.”
Matsujun spun around to face the dark, creepy voice which spoke out from behind him. Matsujun’s jaw dropped as he realised who the voice belonged to.
“Don’t look so surprised, it really does nothing for your already bad complexion. Gives you also more wrinkles apparently.” Lord Kimutaku pushed Matsujun’s jaw up to shut his mouth. “For 15 years now I have been the most popular man on Earth and I don’t plan on that coming to an end in the near future.” He eyed the four frightened boys and Matsujun silently for a moment.
“But you’re not truthfully popular are you? You’re only popular because you frighten people into voting for you.”
“Clever, aren’t we. A little too bold though for my liking.” Kimutaku circled around Matsujun like an Eagle surveying its prey. Matsujun looked up into the swirling pools of darkness which looked so cruelly down into his own mysterious dark eyes.

“Ah, it’s such a shame; Johnny is really losing his touch. What does he think by sending down five pathetic little boys to overthrow me?! The most powerful wizard of all time!” Kimutaku walked slowly around the other four. “What’re you talking about? Johnny didn’t send us.” Aiba watched Kimutaku suspiciously, his wand tightly wrap in his hand. Kimutaku just replied with an evil smile before running his hand through his hair, very much like Matsujun usually did.
