The rest of the month flew by so quickly that October came before Aiba even realised. All students were kept rather busy during the weeks. The Professors let no opportunity slip to dish out piles of homework. Aiba found himself quite often walking into a stressed-out Yamapi in the Gryffindor common room. Sho could be heard complaining about a frequently growing absence of Matsujun and Aiba from lunch breaks, and although Aiba would have much rather been lazing around and hanging out with Sho-chan, he had no choice in the matter. Hideaki Takizawa, or Tackey as he was known to most, had planned out at least four Quidditch practices a week for the Gryffindor team.

Matsujun wasn’t having much luck either. There was a long history of rivalry between both houses, and for the past decade Gryffindor had won the Quidditch cup. Morita Go, the Slytherin captain was determined to take back Slytherin’s pride at all costs.
The only ones which didn’t seem to be feeling the stress which covered the castle like a thick blanket were Nino and Ohno, who seemed to be spending their time together a lot more than usual. Somehow Nino had managed to get away with not doing any of him homework, which was a mystery to Aiba considering how strict the teachers all were. Ohno was lucky, third and second years were the most relaxing, (or so Aiba had the impression). Unless you were Sho Sakurai off course, who asked for extra homework and gave himself extra assignments.

To the surprise of most of the students Halloween arrived. No lessons took place on Halloween and Aiba, finally escaping the clutches of stress, joined his four best friends at a small table in the great hall. Unbeknown to anyone except Aiba who had watched him, Yamaguchi had performed the magic which had split the four long house tables into many smaller tables which now scattered the hall. Only the Professors table remained the same. Yamaguchi had gone slightly overboard with the scary decorations so much that Professor Katori had intervened. The skeleton waiters which wandered between the tables in dead silence serving up an array of wonderfully coloured drinks, now sported pink suits the lighten up the mood of things, apparently. Yamaguchi had protested rather fiercely but Professor Katori was a fair bit better than Yamaguchi at magic, so to avoid being turned into something bright and sparkly Yamaguchi had given in.

“Maaah…Nino~!” Ohno’s whiny voice woke Aiba from his daydream of a room full of Lion cubs. “Show me that card trick again.” Aiba turned his attention to Sho, who was scribbling frustrated onto a piece of parchment. A large textbook was propped open in front of him. Aiba attempted to read the first two lines of the page nearest to him, but couldn’t make heads or tails of what it meant. Instead, he picked up another of Sho’s textbooks from the mountain next to him and curiously opened it. The book was a potions book and as Aiba flicked through it he noticed small annotations which Sho had written neatly beside instructions. One potion Sho had even re-written in full. The potion was a love potion. Aiba wondered why Sho would want to use such a potion.

“Oh great. The amazing Bakanishi has decided to stalk us.” A sarcastic mutter came from the direction of Matsujun. “Just ignore him.” Sho spoke without making his quill leave the parchment. “Well well well. If it ain’t dork boy and the mudblood lovers.” Akanishi hovered over their table, Nakamaru and Koki sniggering behind him. Sho ignored them, trying to set an example but Matsujun couldn’t restrain himself. “Shove off Akanishi.” He snapped at the arrogant boy. “Oh. And what if I don’t?” Akanishi looked down at Matsujun.
“I’ll curse that fat ass of yours.” Matsujun glared at Akanishi, but just as Akanishi was about to reply, the large oak doors of the great hall swung violently open to reveal a ruffled looking Professor Akasawa. “Troll…Fashion Troll in the castle…!” Out of breath and as pale as a sheet of parchment the Professor fainted on the stone floor. The few students in the hall froze. Professor Akasawa looked up, “Well don’t just stand there, run to your dorms!” before fainting once more.

“Er…what’s a fashion Troll?!” Aiba yelled after his friends as they dragged him out of the hall. “They’re Troll’s which steal fashionable things.” Sho replied.
“Oh.” Aiba continued the follow his friends, however he suddenly realised one person was missing. “Guys! Guys! Where’s Matsujun?!” He pulled at Sho’s robes.
“What? Oh bugger! Nino! Ohno! Matte yo!” Spinning around the group of boys headed back down the deserted corridor from which they had come. “Matsujun!” Sho, Aiba and Ohno shouted out. “Oi! Matsumop!” Nino called out from behind.
“You don’t suppose the Troll’s got him, do you?” Aiba spoke out everyone’s fears.
“I sure hope it has.” Akanishi ran past the four friends. Nino stuck out his foot and Akanishi flew across the corridor. “Oh my, I’m so sorry Bakanishi.” He called back sarcastically. Ohno and Aiba had to compress their giggles underneath the dead cold stare of Sho. “Troll’s have been known to kill for fashionable items before. This is a serious matter. Matsujun could be in grave danger.” But just as these words left the serious boy’s mouth, the four of them heard a familiar voice.

“Hey! Ugly! If you don’t give that back right this instance I will KILL you!”
“Matsujun!” The four boys shouted in unionism as they followed the voice to the prefect’s bathroom. Aiba let out a small squeal as he came face to face with a 12ft troll, victoriously holding Matsujun’s chain necklace. “There you are! Where the hell did you all go?!” Matsujun turned to glare at the four boys who had all frozen in the doorway. “Well, we didn’t exactly fancy hanging around to make acquaintances with the troll.” Nino eyed the troll.
“It’s not like I exactly wanted to meet it either, but I ain’t giving up my precious necklace to something as ugly as this.” Aiba wondered if the troll could understand what they were saying, because it would make sense as to why he was getting angrier by the second. “Er, guys. He’s gonna blow in a minute.” He tugged at Nino.

“I think it’s a she, actually.” Sho said in a matter-of-fact voice.
“A SHE?!” The others all turned to look her up and down.
“Yeah, males are usually a lot bigger and have worse fashion sense.“ Aiba, Nino and Ohno looked at Sho perplexed. “Well I don’t care about its gender; I just want my necklace back!” Matsujun hissed through his teeth. He pointed his wand at the seething troll.
“Stop Matsujun! I think she actually likes you. It’s not the necklace.” Sho spoke again in a factual voice. “EHHH?!” Ohno, Nino and Aiba fell backwards outside the bathroom in shock. “You what?!” Matsujun raised his eyebrow at Sho’s suggestion.
“Yeah, if she didn’t she would have struck out at you by now. And look at the way she’s looking at you. She just wants something of you.” Aiba wondered where in the world Sho had learnt to read Troll’s minds. “What the heck, Sakurai!” Matsujun now pointed his wand at Sho. “Just give her your t-shirt or something.” He nodded at the Troll, who had calmed down quite a bit by now. "My T-shirt?!!"
“Yes, you idiot.” And to everyone’s amazement Sho strode across the side of the room to Matsujun, and in a way which would give Aiba many happy hours of daydreams, Sho ripped Matsujun’s t-shirt off his upper torso and held it out to the troll. For a second the troll just stared with a dreamy expression (along with the stares of Ohno, Nino and Aiba) at the shirtless and ever so hot looking Matsujun. “Hello!!” Sho called up to the Troll to get its attention back. “The t-shirt for the necklace?” Sho nodded in the direction of the necklace which dangled from the Troll’s left hand. Somehow, the troll understood and gently tugged the shirt out of Sho’s hand. Kneeling down in front of Matsujun, she held out the necklace for him. “Er, thank you.” Matsujun took it carefully out of her open hand.
“Me like Ma-su-juu.” She said clumsily. Matsujun looked apprehensive. “Me go home.” The troll stood up, shaking the room and made her way to the exit, clutching tightly onto Matsujun’s t-shirt. Nino, Ohno and Aiba scrambled out of the doorway as the troll stumbled through and thundered around the corridor.
“Oh my God…” Sho sunk down against the wall, his face as pale as a sheet of parchment. “That was so scary.”

“Sho-chan! That was amazing! Where did you learn to communicate with trolls like that?” Ohno was the first to speak. The three boys scrambled from the doorway over to the other two. “I studied Trolls during the summer, as an extra project.”
Aiba couldn’t help but watch Matsujun’s bare chest heaving up and down. It was kind of mesmerising. “Come on guys; let’s get back to our dorms before everyone comes back out. We don’t want to inflict a mass fainting among the school.” Nino smirked, nodding in the direction of Matsujun. Matsujun gave him an evil look.
