Today I went back to work for the first time since stand-down started on the 21st of December. In many ways it was great to get back to work, to see everyone that I've been missing over the last couple of weeks, to catch up on everyone's lives and to just be around the people that are my family here in Alaska. And so it goes, once again I find myself with the internet at my fingertips, and once again I amhoping to make a return to the world of live journal. We'll see how this goes for awhile, and take it from there.

Whats to be done in this world of ours? I've stopped missing winter all together. The past couple of weeks it has been in the way below zeroes back home in IL and MN, and although I had to deal with a about a week of constant rain, the rain has gone and left me with 60-70s this weekend to enjoy ( Read more... )

It's Christmas time all around, but I'm having trouble finding that Christmas cheer this year. There's no snow; I can't even really say that it's cold outside, as temps in the 50s are barely cold enough to be called "chilly." My first Christmas away from family is gnawing on my holiday spirit.
