(no subject)
Today I went back to work for the first time since stand-down started on the 21st of December. In many ways it was great to get back to work, to see everyone that I've been missing over the last couple of weeks, to catch up on everyone's lives and to just be around the people that are my family here in Alaska. Of course, like any job, it's still work, and it was a drag having to be into work by 0645, and to work on all sorts of busy work projects that have been accumulation over the last couple of weeks. blek.
After work I went and did some shopping at the Salvation army and picked up 10 cassettes for the truck, a case to store them and the rest of the tapes that litter my backsteat, and a framed picture of mickey mouse which matches (we're talking one hundred persent, total match) the picture of Minnie I already have up in my room. Total sweetness! I know, right, what kind of guy, at 23, has pictures of Mickey and Minnie haning in his room? Well the answer is me. And I love it.
In other, less exciting, but very dramatic news, as I was pulling out of the parking lot at the salvation army I scraped the side of the car next to me. Yuck. I gave him my insurance info, he got an estimate and by the end of tomorrow I should be ready to start putting that all behind me. Gah! According to the estimate he got, I did more damage to his car than I paid for mine. Yikes. That's what insurance is for. Bummer-core! I just want to get that over with so I can stop thinking about it and clear my head. Yack.
I did get a chance to relax and watch the Tigers of LSU beat the $*@( out of the Buckeyes of Ohio State, and that was good times. My roommate Seth ordered pizza and we cheered the Tigers onto victory. Good times.
And now I'm off to watch a movie. I should be getting some sleep being that I have to get up early and haven't been feeling well, but tomorrow is my duty day and I'll have plenty of time to sleep after the work day is over.
