I can find value in almost any genre of music.  Even if I don't like that particular genre (country, Southern Gospel, rap), I can usually fine some line of melody or harmony in a song that has some worth musically.  In fact, in the genres I don't like, it's usually the vocals that ruin it for me.  I find some country songs to have whiney, off-pitch ( Read more... )

It's been a complete bust as far as Winter goes.  Today it's very gray.  I don't ming gray as long as the ground is turning white, but the ground is not white...it's decidedly wet and soggy.  Bleh.  And the fact that I'm experiencing round two of "The Sickness" is not helping my demeanor.   Bill seems to think that part of my problem is the cats.  ( Read more... )

Since it is the week before school, we are getting   back into the groove of getting up early.  C and I got up at 7:30 a.m. today.  Tomorrow it'll be 7:15 and so on until we reach our goal of 6:45 a.m.  We have been quite lazy all summer, sleeping until the mood to wake up hit us, so this is a shock to the system, yet a necessary one.  I am taking ( Read more... )

 I finally got to the workout room tonight.  And I was joined by Bill (a PT test from the Guard looms) and C!  Bill ran the treadmill and did weights.  I walked a mile on the treadmill, did 2 miles on the bike, and did some weights.  Chelsea ran in place and did some weights.  Then we all heated up and relaxed in the sauna.  I was really glad to be ( Read more... )
