Below are notable SSHG drabbles and drabble series posted between July 21, 2007 and July 21, 2008. I couldn’t list every instance, there would be several hundred of them. Besides ones I personally liked, I’ve listed any recognized by the awards and rec sites Quill to Parchment (QtP), Know It Alls (KIA) and crack_broom, as well as the sshg_awards to highlight those that you might find worthwhile checking out.

A friend of mine said that the real wealth of postDH fic in the ship might well be found here, in the drabbles and drabble series, for the most part posted to grangersnape100. That community, unmoderated, friendly, review-rich, wank-free, with weekly challenges (the portrait challenge especially gave us some gems) is such a pleasure to post to it does foster a great deal of creativity. I was tempted to list some of the drabble series with the short stories in the hopes that might give them a better chance to be read-because that’s what some of those drabble series such as Runed, Five Doxy Wings, What to Expect When Your Husband's Expecting, Picture Perfect are, some of the finest short stories posted this year. Often the drabble series form to me seems too spare and choppy, but several of these stories transcend that.
Just bluestocking79 alone was originally responsible for 9 entries (and I ultimately cheated by listing her Backwards and in High Heels universe stories together.) Words cannot express how much I love that series, and her drabble series in general, and other than her wonderful exchange story, The French Connection, her contribution to the ship is largely found in her drabble series.) In fact, grangersnape100 has been a community and form where more than one newbie, such as bluestocking79, death_ofme, zeegrindylows, kribu and dickgloucester, has impressed. There have even been two enjoyable round robins, and I can't tell you how unusual that is in itself. Invariably, RRs are trainwrecks, either because of a weak link or clashes of vision, but the two above escaped that fate.
Among the individual drabbles, I can’t tell you how absolutely gleeful I was when I first read a_bees_buzz’s What's In a Name?. She was the first I saw to point out that if you read the epilogue to Deathly Hallows carefully, there’s nothing that pins down that Hermione is Ron’s wife, was ever his wife, or that Rose and Hugo are their children, instead of just Ron’s by another woman. Ever since then, I’ve thought of fics that use that escape hatch as using the “Buzzy Exemption” and still being canon-compliant.

A friend of mine said that the real wealth of postDH fic in the ship might well be found here, in the drabbles and drabble series, for the most part posted to grangersnape100. That community, unmoderated, friendly, review-rich, wank-free, with weekly challenges (the portrait challenge especially gave us some gems) is such a pleasure to post to it does foster a great deal of creativity. I was tempted to list some of the drabble series with the short stories in the hopes that might give them a better chance to be read-because that’s what some of those drabble series such as Runed, Five Doxy Wings, What to Expect When Your Husband's Expecting, Picture Perfect are, some of the finest short stories posted this year. Often the drabble series form to me seems too spare and choppy, but several of these stories transcend that.
Just bluestocking79 alone was originally responsible for 9 entries (and I ultimately cheated by listing her Backwards and in High Heels universe stories together.) Words cannot express how much I love that series, and her drabble series in general, and other than her wonderful exchange story, The French Connection, her contribution to the ship is largely found in her drabble series.) In fact, grangersnape100 has been a community and form where more than one newbie, such as bluestocking79, death_ofme, zeegrindylows, kribu and dickgloucester, has impressed. There have even been two enjoyable round robins, and I can't tell you how unusual that is in itself. Invariably, RRs are trainwrecks, either because of a weak link or clashes of vision, but the two above escaped that fate.
Among the individual drabbles, I can’t tell you how absolutely gleeful I was when I first read a_bees_buzz’s What's In a Name?. She was the first I saw to point out that if you read the epilogue to Deathly Hallows carefully, there’s nothing that pins down that Hermione is Ron’s wife, was ever his wife, or that Rose and Hugo are their children, instead of just Ron’s by another woman. Ever since then, I’ve thought of fics that use that escape hatch as using the “Buzzy Exemption” and still being canon-compliant.
