When the mercury hit 102F, the department's cooling charms failed. She drew the short straw, and now, she was lost in the bowels of the Ministry. The still air was stifling. Despair made her pick a door and open it. Time stopped.
His papers fluttered in the breeze from a rickety fan. He looked up and cocked an eyebrow. "Granger. Fancy meeting you here."
She gawked like a first year at the Welcoming Feast.
"You want Requisitions, don't you?"
"How did you..."
"No one comes here deliberately," he sneered.
"Well," she stammered. "I would. Now that I know you're here."
