While I had no internets last week, I took the opportunity to work on my Illustrator skills. I'd found a tutorial for a baby dragon which started off with actually drawing the dragon by hand so I decided to have a go at that. My drawing skills are not the best but I'm very pleased with how this has come out.

I mentioned the other week that I was going to redo the psychedelic John Lennon drawing that I did several years ago. I thought it would look really good redone in Illustrator, it would have nice sharp lines and bright colours then. The original drawing isn't too bad but it could do to be bolder I think. I've been slowly putting my Doctor illustrations on deviantArt - a Doctor a day and they seem to have been fairly well received which is good! I actually got a comment on how good my illustration of Four was so I was very pleased with that. Especially as I don't tend to get many comments on there which is quite disappointing ( Read more... )

Up until last week I had been doing really well with my FMP. I was on schedule and was close to finalising the layouts of the book's page and the cover. When I finished the sketch of the Tenth Doctor that I posted the other day, I was pretty pleased with how it had come out. But the more I thought about it, there was something about it that just didn't sit right. It didn't seem to sum up the character very well, I thought it was a bit too simplistic and childlike.
