“I got to get going, I got spare clothes in my locker.” Ryan explained and pulled his jeans on.

“What time is it?” Ade murmured, hiding his head under a pillow.
“Six in the morning.”
“I don’t need to get up for another hour…..”
“Well, I do.” Ryan stepped into his shoes and paused. “I…. Thanks. I have to go.”
“Okay.” Ade pulled the pillow off his face.

“I…. I’m not…. I don`t know....” Ryan wasn’t sure what he wanted to say.
“I know. You know where to find me if you want to.”

“Yeah.” Ryan said. “Bye.”

--------------------------------------

When Ryan arrived to the lab, Eric was waiting in the locker room.

“Morning. I wasn’t sure if you were gonna show up.”
“I’m here, and… I think I owe you an apology. I shouldn’t have showed up at your place like that.”
“It’s okay.”
“Everything’s been up in the air, and…. I wasn’t sure what was what.”
“Are you sure now?”
“More than yesterday. Anyway…. Good luck. With Greg.”
“Thanks. And if it’s any consolation, that morning visit wasn’t the only awkward get-together yesterday.”
“What do you mean?”
“Greg’s ex showed up at his work and wanted to talk.”
“And?”
“And Greg shot him down.” Eric grinned. “What about you?”
“What about me?”
“You called in sick. What did you do all day?”
“Well…. I was planning to spend the day brooding, but I got sidetracked. Somebody I had met once just came to take me out.”
“Just like that?”
“Yeah. It was weird.”
“Did he try something?”
“He tried and succeeded.“ Ryan couldn’t keep the smirk off his face. “All day long.”
“Impressive.”
“It was! I swear, that guys recovery time is not normal.”
“Did you keep up with him?”
“Most of the time.” Ryan chuckled.
“What was it? A one time deal? Romance of the century kinda deal?”
“I have no idea.”
“Which one are you hoping for?”
“I don’t know that either. He kinda left the ball in my court.”

--------------------------------------

The day turned out to be better than Ryan had expected. For the first time in months working with Eric was actually enjoyable. Ryan was about to finish processing a battered old leather jacket for gunshot residues when his cell phone rang.
“Wolfe. Who? Okay, I’m coming.” He hung up.
“What was that?” Eric lifted his eyes from his work.
“I got a visitor in the reception.”
“Your all-night-all-day guy?”
“No idea.” Ryan grinned and headed to the lobby.

As soon as he came to the reception he spotted a familiar man leaning against the counter.

“Nick? What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to talk to you. Is there somewhere where we can have some privacy?”

They walked to the break room and Ryan poured himself a cup of coffee. “You want some?”
“No, thanks.”
“So, what did you want to talk about?”
“It’s over between me and Greg.”
“And?”
“And you and Eric are not getting back together.”
“So?”
“I….” Nick gave him a flirty smile. “I got over a week left before I go back to Vegas.” He took a step closer placed his hand on the small of Ryan’s back. “I was thinking we could refresh old memories.” The hand slid down over Ryan’s ass.

Ryan’s reaction wasn`t exactly what he had expected. He started laughing uncontrollably.

“What’s so funny?” Nick looked quite insulted.
“You. First you try Greg, he turns you down, and then you move on to me. That’s really funny.” He removed himself from Nick’s hold.
“Come on, I’m serious here. We’re both alone, we might as well have fun while I’m here.”
“Yeah, but….” The laughter turned into tiny giggles. “I don’t think so. Miami’s full of clubs, you’ll find somebody for a week.” He paused. “But I’m not interested.”

He turned around and marched out. Nick could hear the faint sound of suppressed giggles all the way from the hallway.

--------------------------------------

Ryan waited in his car for ten minutes. Finally he got out and walked inside the apartment building. For the next five minutes he considered his options. He could either ring the doorbell or leave. He made up his mind and rang Ade`s doorbell.
