“Your ten minutes starts now.”
“I want you to come back to Vegas with me.”
Greg gave him a long look. “Let me guess…. You’ve never studied the art of negotiations.”
“I know you hate me right now, I know you still love me.”
“Of course I love, that doesn’t go away so fast. That’s not what this is about. Just because I still love, it doesn’t mean we should get back together. This is not even about your cheating anymore. It’s about my decision.”
“What do you mean?”
“I decided that no matter how much I try, this is not gonna work. So I’ve moved on to something else and I hope it works.”
“You mean that guy, whatever his name is.”
“Eric. You know…. Last night when we were out I thought of you. Just for a second.”
“You did?”
“Yeah. I thought that if we could have been like this…. Maybe I would take you back.”
“If it would have been what?”
Greg smiled a little bit. “We’ve been out dancing having couple drinks and eating and…. I don’t need to hide it. We go out together and have fun. I can show everyone he’s there with me and that he’s mine. When I was with you I couldn’t even touch you outside of your apartment.”
“So, we’re going back to that again.”
“Yeah, because it was a big thing to me. You asked me to compromise time after time and you never gave anything in return. That still hasn’t changed and I don’t think it ever will.”
“You mean…..” Nick paused to take a deep breath. “….there’s no change of us getting back together.”
“That’s right. I hope you’ll get your head in working order, but I’m not gonna wait for it to happen.”

Ryan swallowed the last piece of his meal and put his fork down with a satisfied sigh. The whole lunch had been more pleasant experience than he had expected. Ade was definitely bossy, but his dry sense of humour balanced it nicely and good looks gave him some more points. Ryan had almost managed to forget the off-the-scale-awful morning.
“That’s a good look for you.” Ade grinned.
“What’s a good look?”
“That “I’m so stuffed I can barely move” look. It makes you look almost cuddly.”
“I didn’t know you were the type to cuddle.”
“Depends on what we’ve done before that.”
“I’m going to regret asking this, but I’ll ask anyway….. What do you imagine doing before that?”
“Tying you to my bed with that pink tie you had on yesterday.”
Ryan, who had been sipping from his water glass, started gagging and looked like he was going to choke. Ade leaned over the table and patted him on the back till he managed to breath normally again.
“Don’t say stuff like that when I’m drinking!”
“You asked.”
“You’re pretty sure of yourself, aren’t you?”
“Yep.”
“How often do you do this? Show up on someone’s door and announce you’re taking them out?”
“This was the first time I did that.”
“But you always go after what you want?”
“Yeah.”
“You want me?”
“Yeah.”
“What are you offering?”
“Right now…. stress relief? You look like you need it.”
Ryan was quiet for a minute and pondered the situation. He would probably never even see the guy again. Why not?
-----------------------------------------
Eric walked into Greg’s apartment and gave him a long look. “Long day?”
“Not long. Weird. Nick came to see me at work.”
“What did he want?”
“Me.”
“What did you tell him?”
“I told him that it’s not gonna happen.”
“Good.” Eric paused. “You wanna go out or just stay here?”
“You know any good take-out joints?”
“Yeah.”
“Then…. It would be nice to just stay here. Chinese?”
“How bout pizza?”
“I’m flexible.” Greg agreed. “Couch, a squishy cushion, good movie and a pizza. Sounds good to me.”
“Don’t I have any role in that?” Eric grinned.
“What do you think I meant when I talked about a “squishy cushion”?”
Eric chuckled. “I just wanted to be sure.”
-----------------------------------------
Ryan pressed his head against the pillow and tried to breath. His sweaty body was sore and sated to the point where he was too exhausted to move. Ade prodded his head on his arm and gave Ryan a wide grin.
“Any stress left?”
“Don’t tell me you’re ready to go again….” Ryan chuckled. He still wasn’t sure how they had managed to get from the restaurant to Ade`s apartment. And how they had gone from the kitchen table to the living room couch and finally to the bedroom.
“Don’t tell me you’re too tired already.” Ade countered.
“I am! I don’t think I can walk normally for the next week.” Ryan complained, and let out a happy sigh. “Thanks. I really needed that.”
“You’re welcome.”
