The day J the apprentice left, both my boss and I felt a huge weight lifting off our shoulders. Well it's been a good couple of weeks for the cats. Both now prefer lazing about on the tree rather than behind/under things, Linton lies on the bottom of the tree and Lassa sleeps in various places - both caves including the one she doesn't fit into, mid level platforms, and the top perch where she can look out of the window. Cats seem to be doing well now. Still no physical contact of course, but they do come out & saunter about, eat etc. & even use the litter tray with me in the room. Linton is still very nervous & hides much of the time, and if I move when he's out & about he dives for cover. Well the cats are home, and seem to be settling in about as well as I thought they would. They hide behind the sofa all day and seem to be sleeping under it (about 2.5 inches max clearance!) which is a pain - literally- as I can't dare to use the recliner as it may squash or trap them, as they seem to prefer my end of the sofa ( Read more... )

So, went for the Paperwhite in the end as I didn't reckon the manual page turning was worth the extra £60. Got an email saying it was being delivered today, and the very next email in my in-box was one from Amazon saying "You were looking at these the other day, can we tempt you with a new Kindle?".

So having got the final part of the inheritance from my Godmother, I'm finally able to replace my knackered Kindle (battery won't hold a charge). And because I feel I can slightly indulge myself if I want rather than going for the cheapest option, I'm finding it hard to decide what one to get ( Read more... )
