Well the cats are home, and seem to be settling in about as well as I thought they would. They hide behind the sofa all day and seem to be sleeping under it (about 2.5 inches max clearance!) which is a pain - literally- as I can't dare to use the recliner as it may squash or trap them, as they seem to prefer my end of the sofa.
However they are eating (mostly their dry food), drinking and using the litter tray overnight, and last night one was heard using the tree as a scratching post while I was in the room. They also eat Dreamies that I put by the end of the sofa within 5 mins of them being put down as long as I'm sitting quietly & not anywhere I could see them. At one stage I actually SAW one of them half out from behind the sofa, and he didn't run away as I went past ( I think it was Linton anyway, I didn't look too closely so I didn't frighten him).
I think this is about as good as I could possibly expect, considering they spent the first year of their lives in a semi-feral colony and the next in a shelter so have never been in a house before.
