Yes, 3D Animation has a wonderful place in the world. But I can't help but be a nerdy little art kid and squee over seeing 2D making a kickass comeback. It's a really cute movie. The songs aren't anything spectacular but then I saw Randy Newman was credited for them. Mystery solved. But the story was sweet and the animation was spectacular. ( Read more... )

While kind of sexist, kind of racist, kind of ridiculous with the violence and profanity; I really like The Boondock Saints.  Apparently they've finally made a long promised sequel.  With Julie Benz in it no less.  Who I love.  I'm excited but not dying to see it.  Sequels tend to suck, and I'm worried that it'll just repeat all the jokes.  Anyway ( Read more... )

This movie was everything I thought it would be.  And more.

Funny, gory, sad, actiony, occasionally poignant,....and funny.   There's really not a dull or wasted moment.  The cast was great and they bring so much you really don't think about how small it is.  The main actor seemed a little Michael Cera-esque, but I'm so glad they didn't actually ( Read more... )

Well, Inglourious Basterds was sold out because nobody listens to me when I say logical things like "For some reason there's only a few showings, so lets get there early".  So we didn't get there early enough, so went to "500 Days of Summer" instead.
