Lots of Ranting, So Look Away.

Well, Inglourious Basterds was sold out because nobody listens to me when I say logical things like "For some reason there's only a few showings, so lets get there early".  So we didn't get there early enough, so went to "500 Days of Summer" instead.

That was the most goddamn boring movie I have ever seen.  Okay, there were like, two funny parts.  But other that that...good god.  If I wanted to watch something about very white people's relationship ups and downs and woes, then, well, I guess I'd be somebody who actually liked the movie?  I don't know, it was like it was trying to be something interesting and original but epically failed.  And yes, it was painfully white.  As in causasian.  The Smiths are played and talked about way too much.  Cute vintage clothes, embarassment at life, Zooey Dawhatever (who I actually kind of like), and that dork from Third Rock (who I don't),  etc.  My friends said it was "Character Driven", and I just didn't like it because it wasn't action.  I like tons of talky movies, but these characters were so boring.  Their conversations are so trite and predictable and boring.  Watch "Annie Hall" or "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" for character-driven and an interesting view on relationships.  Argh, I can't believe I paid eight dollars for that crap.  This is why I usually go to movies alone.  I see what I want, get there when I want, and don't have to shush my friends when they make some dumbass comment.

Aaand there was lots of real-life bitching I erased because most of it was fueled by time-of-the-month dragon fumes.

rambling, ranting, real life, movies
