Now that was a movie!
Maaan, Tarantino. I like his movies, I'm not one of those people who think he's God's gift to the cinema or anything, but the movie was awesome. Surprisingly it's not constant Brad Pitt and the Basterds kill Nazis. It's a lot of plotting and planning and really long scenes of talking. But good talking, not bad indie chick-flick "I like you, do you like me? Oh yays!" crap. (Yes, still bitter.) Actually most of it is in German and French with subtitles which was really cool. It focuses in more on a few choice characters, good and bad. It's kind of constantly grousome, hilarious, and sad all at the same time.
The cast was great. Quite a few pleasently surprising faces. Like I said, not as much Brad Pitt as you'd think. He's really good in it though, his lines are all fun and quoteable.
Some things were telltale Tarantino. There were a few shots directly above people's heads as they walk through a building, the music was really well done, a lot of it was made to look like an old foreign film. Maybe I'm de-sensitized but I didn't think it was as gorey as some of his other films. And his kind of gore isn't like realistic war-movie gore anyway, but still. Lots of fun! I could watch it several times.
The parent's went to Brother and SIL's today but I had to work so I'm just going over for the day tomorrow. Crashing at their place though since it's a little closer to the highway and I didn't want the animals to be alone all night.
