We had a very good meal at the Cantonese, just the 14 of us! It ended rather late, so I had to stay up til 11:00, drinking peppermint tea, to give the food time to settle before I lay down. We had the Goathland Station Master, John Bruce, with us yesterday as he was helping one of our volunteers build notice boards for Goathland. As he was still around at 18:00, and I was cooking for 5 anyway, I invited him to stay for dinner. Saturday was spent fencing and cooking again, then yesterday I had great fun with paperwork. I sat down to sort out the new prices for the end of this month, write ticket books, label racks, etc., only to find the Levisham-Whitby and Whitby-All line tickets are now 2 different price sets. I met Simon at the Station and we headed off to Sheringham. Its a long journey by train, about 5 hours, but improved by being able to watch DVDs on his laptop, and not improved by the last bits from Ely having no first class! Simon was in when I got home, he was in the attic swearing at the door he had to take down to trim which took him 2 hours to get back on its hangers. We were just leaving for the Chiropractors for Simon when Screwfix finally delivered. Only 4 days late! That nearly made us late, but we made it just in time. Oddly, the good mood didn't last all weekend. Saturday was a fairly good day, I took over £800 on the booking office in spite of the wind and rain, I got a lot of other bits done in the way of paperwork and accounts and I managed to get Stephen to roast the gammon, so all went well there. The cat is fine, he'd had his last scan and his bladder is looking, normal, healthy and OK. The new booking clerk seems very confident. Simon has rang to say he is leaving York (not what I'd call mid afternoon!) and all is actually right with the world. Plus Oliver Cromwell looks very shiny.
