We dodged another bullet this weekend as the heavy snowfall that had been predicted never made it here, though I hear Calgary got quite a dumping. We got a dusting, and there were a few moments when it was coming down fast enough to make for nearly white-out conditions, but the overall amount was minimal and much of it melted on contact.      While today was far from a perfect day, it was a vast improvement over yesterday.  I'm still totally swamped at the shop, and there's more work at the farm than I can keep up with, but things are getting done.  My credit-card payment (finally) went through, so I was able to pay my bills on time, save nearly $100 on shipping credits for doing ( Read more... )

Another busy day here at the farm. The Kidling failed to remind anyone that he had to be at work at 11am, so there was a bit of a scramble at 10:30 to get him there on time. Normally, Friday Nights are one of our busiest nights at the bowling alley; But for the last three weeks or so, they've been completely dead.      February arrived with a flurry of activity, as the start of the month is often wont to do.  According to trixstir, Friday night was a dead night at the bowling alley, which is unusual for a Friday, but these things happen.  We still came out with black ink at the end of the month for January, so that's good.

     I had to make a trip up to Airdrie today, as they're about the closest UFA store since the one in Calgary closed a couple of years ago.  The UFA sold a type of halter-hanger (for horse halters) that I have been unable to find anywhere else.  I've checked all of the tack-stores in the area, and all of the Peavey-Mart stores, but no one has this ( Read more... )
