The day started at 6:30am when the alarm clock went off; trixstir  and I needed to get an early start so that we would be in Swift-Current in time for her appointment.  The appointment went well, and the baby is doing fine.  With any luck, the estimates will be correct and by this time next week there will be a new arrival.  We shall see...

     I would have posted last night, but by the time I got home from work I was so sore, tired, and aching that I just wanted to call it a night.  That, and last night was the season finale of Canada's Worst Handyman, and I wanted to see who "won" the title.  It was a neck-and-neck race beween Simon and Deen, and Deen "won" because he was a walking ( Read more... )

Despite my back being so sore I could barely move, I managed to get a lot of important things done today. To wit:

• Installed "illuminated switch" in garage/barn. It gets dark in there at night, and finding the light-switch isn't always easy. I bought one of type that glows in the dark (has a little neon light inside) so we can easily find the ( Read more... )

     It was a good day today; We got a few things done that have been on the "to do" list for a while, and wrapped it up with a wonderful supper.

For trixstir, the main "to do" was to finish cleaning out the travel-trailer so we could lock it up for the winter.  For me, the main things were to pick up an animal-transporter that I had bought at an ( Read more... )

    We got word from trixstir 's family that her father had a heart-attack yesterday.  He's survived so far, but he's scheduled to have a quadruple bypass as soon as the surgeons can get to him.  Welcome to Health Care in Canada:  Yes, it's free, if you live long enough to get it.  Heart and/or Stroke Patients get taken care of pretty fast because there's ( Read more... )

I've been fighting a cold ever since I left Shaunavon earlier this week.  I'm sure that I caught it from the saleslady who sold me a new set of cell-phones for myself and trixstir .  She was hacking and coughing, though at first I thought that was because she was a smoker, until she mentioned that she had a cold.  Great, thanks for the warning...
